Could be the beginning of the end for him as Man U boss. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Sir-Alex-Ferguson-recovering-heart-scare.html
Good luck to SAF, whilst his heart is still beating, he'll be the beating heart of MUFC. I don't support them, and sometimes his tactics and attitudes get on my nerves, but no one could argue that his contribution to the game and his loyalty to United is anything less than outstanding. Hope it's a blip and nothing serious...
Time for him to step aside and enjoy his retirement, he can still play a role at Old Trafford without having to manage the team. I thought this year more mistakes were made than usual at Utd, usually they are very efficient. I wonder if they would take a leaf out of Chelsea's book and get an old favourite player to manage them, like Mark Hughes, or if Mourinho is just waiting for the call.
I'd agree with you Nishy, but I can't imagine he's sort to acquire pipe and slippers. Not sure he'd go unless he was sacked or they were nailing down the lid! Perhaps a Matt Busby role or something. From memory, Busby seemed ready to go, I'm not sure at this juncture SAF is ...
If Ferguson was to go I think Moyes would be right up there in their thoughts. Done a cracking job with limited resources at Everton over the years.
I suppose Kempton is right, we shouldn't wish the worst on him. The Busby suggestion is interesting, it was commented by a few ex-managers like Docherty and Atkinson that he overshadowed the club a bit with his presence after retirement, Fergie isn't exactly the shy and retiring Bobby Charlton sort.
