Well maybe not that techno, but i am more than a little bit behind on such things. So.... I have one of these smart ready tele's, and iv'e bought a dongle, erm thing to make it, erm.... Smart ?

My aim is to stream films from the likes of Love Film, Net Flix ect.

    OK ? Two questions.

1/ Which film streaming firm thing, would you go with ?

2/ Would it be worth getting one of those keyboard things,to go with this ultra, high tech wot not ?

Sorry if im talking out my arse, it's just i don't have a clue.

    Ta <ok>

netflix, you can enter DNS codes to get the american one on the tv, which has over 50% more content, love film is a bit lacklustre personally although both lack any movies i wish to actually see, personal preference

and the keyboard is personal preference, if you find using the remote control to browse and type is a hinderance, a keyboard may suit you

What do you mean by dongle thing? A smart TV should be smart on its own without one. As far as streaming films...I'd go Netflix and then change the settings so it picks up the US content rather than UK (more choice)

by dongle, im guessing to make it internet enabled, maybe it didn't come with a wifi receiver or maybe the OP doesn't have home broadband, you can't just change the settings on something like a tv, need to change the dns codes

    Netflix.

You can get several devices linked to the same account.

I pay about £5 a month and wife, son and daughter all access it on tablets regardless of where they are.

Got it on our smart TV but I generally use my tablet as well.

By settings i mean internet settings on the tv. In simple terms, DNS codes basically tell the internet where you are in the world. You can find lists of them online in order to change your location.

it just enables you to recieve the us content which is much better than the uk version, they have much more tv series and films in comparison

the dns just tricks it into thinking you are in the states basically

Doesn't take much messing about...just type it in once and the TV remembers it.

Samsung sell a dongle that upgrades any samsung tv (up to a certain age) into a smart tv. It's an over expensive pile of ****e really when you can just go out and by a smart blu ray player/now tv box/games console etc for half the price to do the same thing.

Now TV has a good library on it, bit dearer than Netflix but gives you sky's full movie library and the movie channels. Also got some good stuff on entertainment. Netflix looked decent when I flicked through it's library awhile back but I've never bothered, I don't watch enough telly really there's more than enough on sky to keep me happy. In fact the things I do watch and have been looking forward to watching I'm weeks behind on.

None of the online services have amazing selections of films but Netflix is probably best in that regard. The real quality of Netflix comes from streaming TV series which can become ridiculously addictive. My top picks from Netflix are; Breaking Bad, Dexter, Chuck, and White Collar.

Anyone one who has Netflix check out 'Lilyhammer' starring Steven Van Zandt of the E street band. It's bloody brilliant.
