Right lads, trying to pack the tabs in but putting my willpower into football terms, it's in the Sunday League. Any body tried these & if so what success rate did you have? Have tried the patches which might as well been a bit of sparky's tape stuck to my arm. Can't go on Champix, the supposed new wonder drug as I'm epileptic.
I can't quit. Tried several times but it doesn't stick. The ****ty thing is I don't think I want to quit. Good luck with it Bill! Hopefully someone is more useful than me!
Same as Death Discoteca for me. Don't want to quit. Don't touch the booze much anymore. My lung capacity is rubbish. I'll quit when we try for a baby, until then I'm going to enjoy every cig. Good luck though Billy, going to be tough but you can do it.
My dad uses the e-tabs and he swears by them. He was smoking since 11, and he's 53 now... but he's quite strong willed. His health has improved on them. He gets his nicotine hit, but without all the other **** that goes into them. I know a couple of guys on Champix, but a couple have gone back on the cigs. You can even make different flavoured e-tab fluids, my old man likes Butterscotch. Makes the house smell nice aswell, and all he exhales is water vapour. He can now ride his bike with me, and we've done a couple of 100km bike rides. Takes 5 hours, but his health has defo improved.
Nicotine is the only thing you crave from the smokes, but you can get that through Vaping e-tabs. My old man is always puffing on it, so he prob gets more nicotine now than he did before, but he hasn't touched a smoke in about 2 years. Give it a shot mate, they're alot better than cigarettes, and will only benefit you. Good on you for trying mate, hard ****ers to come off!
Not blowing my own trumpet much but I found it pretty easy to quit, I just went cold turkey the weekend of the Derby (15 months ago), thought if i can get through this weekend without one I can get through virtually anything without wanting one. My wife still smokes and it does my head in, not so much the smoking but the bloody cost, £80 a week on the things, totally skints us. I still would like a cig every day, but tbh i have never been tempted to pinch one of hers.
In case they blow smoke in his face, comm. If it's not smoke in his face, it's sand on the beach, poor lad.
I've a good mate from work, older than me (and you), who quit for the e-tabs last year and hasn't looked back. and he was a good 20 a day man....his Mrs was worse and she's also off them for over a year now. Good luck mate.
Hi Billy, I used to be a stop smoking advisor and now work in Public Health. E cigs have just been approved to use as a stop smoking aid but by the time they go through all the formal channels it will be another few years before you can buy them in a chemist when they also be a lot cheaper and a lot better quality as well. They are becoming increasingly popular though and a worth a shot. At the end of the day though, you are only continuing the addiction (all be it a much safer and better option than cigarettes!) just because Nicotine replacement (the patches) didnt work for you last time, it could be that you need something else. Depending on how many you smoke, you should use the patch with something else like the gum or nasal spray. Using 2 products usually works a lot better. Beating the physical addiction is only one part though! You need to get out of your habits and routines.......that's a whole different ball game though!!!
