What an ugly house. Should have built what he got planning permission for.

To be fair he was probably measuring using 6 fingers over the whole length of the building that'd probably equal 19 inches

On face value 19 inches sounds petty but with the plans in place and the precision that things can be built/made they have tried to take a liberty and got caught. If everyone sneeks a foot here a meter there, when does it become 2 or maybe 3?
Rules is rules, if the builders made the cock up then seek compensation there. But if they took the decision to take the extra space, and they have not done anything since being told to adjust to what they had permission for, then no sympathy. should I have got away with speeding because I went just over, I new the limit, but I choose to exceed it. More folk who are crying after getting Caught with there fingers in the cookie jar! Being a traveller it doesn't surprise me that he thought the rules would not apply to him. Go pen pushers!

    Bah!

Agreed GM, seems like he had to battle to get permission anyway and took advantage of the council granting an exception. Not an once of sympathy from me.

It's made from modular buildings it's not a house they built from scratch, if you look at photos there's not much around them and plenty of land either side.

On the face of it I agree about no sympathy BUT is it really necessary to waste money doing this when a nice fat fine would work as a good example to others.

By the way they sent the builders in today to smash the place up and now the council has made them homeless they have to put them up in b&b

WASTE OF COUNCIL TAX PAYERS MONEY

Well maybe I'm in the minority (or so it seems), but I think this is utterly fecking ridiculous!

They certainly have my sympathy. I've had dealings with council planners, and I'm sure they loved this. It's just a few inches ffs!

I can't imagine they were that desperate to add to the width, probably just a minor error, but knock it down?! <doh>

They also have my sympathy for living near Wisbech. <ok>
