O/T Disgrace.

Black and Asian England fans feel it's not safe to travel to Ukraine and Poland for the Euro's so are opting out.

Just my opinion but it's a disgrace that these countries are allowed to hold major tournaments.
I appreciate that every country has idiots who will look to cause agro but Poland and Ukraine have deep rooted problems with far right hooligans.

It' would have been like Uefa sanctioning the Euro's to be played in England in the late 70's or early 80's.

It would never have happened.

The Home Office have issued a warning to Black and Asian England fans who are considering going over to the Euro's such is the concern for their safety.

Unacceptable if you ask me.

 

Totally agree with you. Apparently Aaron Lennon's family are not going to watch for that reason. It is one rule for some countries and another rule for others. Its all politics and backhanders. About time we had a major tournament here.

Did you see the special report SSN did on the Ukrainian boot boys?

Some of them have been in training for the upcoming tournament.
In fact they look more like cage fighters or boxers than your average hooligan.

I'm only ten minutes into the programme but the film crew followed them around for a few days so I'll be looking at that with some interest.

In the bit I did see they made it quite clear that they hated anyone foreign and referred to their country as the 'fatherland'.

Not sure I'd be keen to go across if I was Black or Asian to be honest.

 

I saw something else in one of the papers about how in the Ukraine they have a big problem with stray dogs.

Loads of them, roaming the city, scavenging and making the place look untidy, I guess.

So, the solution? They've just gone out into the street with guns and slaughtered thousands of them. There are literally skips piled high with dead dogs.

Clearly animal lovers are distraught. The Ukrainians didn't see the problem.

 

I can understand why these tournaments are been held in developing countries, but at the end of the day some of said countries come with problems such as these and it's disappointing to see these issues overlooked. There have also been concerns over the infrastructure in Ukraine as to whether it can accommodate thousands of football fans. I'm all for trying to give these countries a source of development, but football govering bodies need to be more sensible about these things before choosing a host nation for a tournament.

Ukraine have always sympathised with extremists, loads of atrocities were committed by Ukrainians joining with the SS during World War 2, it's a shame they still seem to have this issue
