If anyone here remembers the Eagle comic, this may be of interest: http://www.theguardian.com/books/20...n-dare-never-printed-stories-65th-anniversary please log in to view this image (I never knew 2000AD had also published the Dan Dare stories. It's 2000AD who are bringing him back)
im surprised at you Stan. Glorification of violence and all that. I assumed you were more a Bunty kinda guy.
Didn't they serialize Dan Dare on Radio Luxembourg for a while in the late 50's/early 60's ? ....on a similar note...matinees in the tuppeny seats at the Plaza in Hessle Square...along with The Eagle at weekends... then along came booze & birds...what a pity !! Much prefered Emperor Ming and the "mud men ??" who appeared out of the rock walls
That strikes a chord. I used to go to the Saturday Matinees at the Plaza (although maybe a bit later as I seem to think it was 7d) - I used to love the Batman, Flash Gordon and Superman serials although I think they sometimes randomised the episodes. Mrs. Alte was pretty spooked by the clay men who emerged from the walls.
