Had too much time on my hands at work this morning because of a typhoon leaving us locked indoors. Read an article about this year being the 20th of the premiership. The article had a best 11 but with so many players to pick I went a bit further and did a uk and Ireland v foriegner one. Again with so many players this then turned into a first decade and second decade split. Imagine a Four team tournament with the below teams, all players in their prime. Who would win, or who have I omitted/selected wrongly. British pre 2002 (4-3-3) Seaman Neville Irwin Adams Campbell Keane Beckham Le tissier S*****r Sheringham Fowler Foreign pre 2002 (3-4-3) Schmeichael Desially Stam Berg Vieira Overmars Ljungberg Ginola Zola Cantona Bergkamp British post 2002 (4-4-2) Given Cole Carragher Ferdinand Terry Gerrard Lampard Scholes Giggs Rooney Robbie Keane Foreign post 2002 (3-4-3) Cech Vidic Carvallho Hypia Makelele Silva Robben Fabregas Ronaldo Henry Van nistelrooy I'm going for foreigners pre 2002. Thoughts?
Agree with the old foreigners to win, but only if they changed their formation, stuck Irwin on the left and a decent full back on the right. 3 at the back doesn't work!
The old foreigners would win, nobody would be able to get the ball off King Eric. I'd actually change: Pires for Ljungberg, Owen for Sheringham, Hart for Given and Giggs/Scholes should appear in both UK & Ireland sides to be fair
