I've been asked to be best man at a wedding. Not done the best man thing for 20 years.

Its second marriage for both of em, so its a bit tricky with the past stuff.

    Any advice, ideas.

There are loads of websites giving suggestions for Best Man speeches, just google it mate.

Other than that, get him to the registrar(?) on time, don't lose the rings, get him pissed and, most importantly, nail the maid of honour.

    Hope that helps <ok>

Pick your spot and dont change your mind on the run up.
Try to place it in a corner rather than blast down the middle.

Avoid references to the first half and dont abuse the ref as they are very card happy at the moment, dont want you removed from the bench (top table )

Take him to vegas, get smashed, take his weird brother in law to be, the rest will come naturally.

I'm not sure it's as bad as Bradford, but I agree it's not great.

I've been four or five times and I enjoyed it the first time, then progressively went off it on each further visit. The Disneyland for adults tag it carries is fairly accurate, it's a place you should really only go to once.

Mam & Dad went to Vegas recently, he loved it but she said it was ****e, mind you she didn't gamble, so i didn't see the point of her going. They both disapproved of the Penn and Teller magic show.

Outskirts & suburbs of Bradford are nice enough.

Was an ok night out, from what i remember.

I was Best Man the day we were at Wembley. The Bride and Groom had chosen the middle of Cornwall to get married and had booked it 18 months in advance. To say i was a little unenthusiastic is an understatement. I had uncles and cousins at the match , who flew to the wedding after the match ( Oh the lucky buggers).
I sneeked off to watched the match, on T.V, in the Hotel Managers flat, on my own.
They had to find me to make my speech, which to be fair, was short and sincere (how many guests remember the speech anyway).
Then back to the flat for the remainder of the match.
The family members who arrived after the match were absolutely buzzing.

So just don't make it to long, and have one or two belting memories to share (one funny, one to get the hankies out to)with the guests.

Oh, and a large Brandy helps to settle any nerves.

    Good luck.

Well it's all about opinions but I couldnt disagree more. There is nothing to do there and no variety at all. The places look amazing when youre on the outside but once inside they are all literally identical and you could be in any one of them. I swent on a stag-do with around 20 other lads from Hull and the thought that I would be bored after 2 nights never once crossed my mind but that was the reality. "Oh look, it's another aircraft hanger with gaming machines inside. I didnt see that coming".

I also overheard some American tourists walking around the Venetian say: "Gee, this is amazing. There's no need to go to Europe now". NO - YOU THICK ****ING YANK. Building a swimming pool and putting a bloke in a small canoe in a uniform is NOT THE SAME as centuries of history. I know you dont have history in your country but you cant just recreate it.

If you dont gamble its probably hell on earth BCC. But i do and i love it. Theres loads of bars to go in, lap dancing clubs. Fit women every where. Loads of good acts to see and the food is really good and pretty cheap.
    Sounds like heaven to me.
