Surely he has to go now. Chelsea are so poor at the moment. He has clearly lost the dressing room. Surely the end is near. Was he always the wrong man for Chelsea?
He's on his arse big time, only one of his signings, Mata, looks class and the remaining old guard players clearly have zero faith in thim whatsoever, to bring him from Porto which is an easier league to win than the Scottish league and expect him to do a Mourinho was always ridiculous so Abramovich must take blame too. Rarely have I seen a manager lose the players like he has, even Hodgson at the binsifters didn't look to have lost the dressing room last year. A very expensive feck up for Roman to sort out
I feel sorry for him. Firstly though, I would like to say that I don't think his appointment was the right one in the first place. Chelsea is a club that chews up and spits out managers, often some of the most experienced and wily around. AVB is so young, I just think it was an impossible task from the start for him. That dressing room, the egos and personalties in there, have been tough to manage for many older than AVB. Having said that, since he got the job, I wanted him to succeed (mainly as it seemed so unlikely). He's tried to be brave, dropping Lampard etc, trying to bring about the beginnings of a (IMO much needed) squad overhaul. But it's not easy, and Abramovich rather famously isn't the most patient of men. The media have smelt blood and have been essentially petitioning for his sacking for a few weeks. He doesn't need that. I'm sure he'll be sacked, probably this week following this defeat, but he does have my sympathy. Bloke never stood a chance.
I don't like him, he talks a lot of nonsense, he uses 40 words when 10 would suffice, he also sounds identical to a bloke I used to do business with in Portugal, someone who did a runner owing me £90k. For that reason alone, I don't care of he's sacked. Or shot, or run over by a bus. PS - If anyone is in Portugal and happens to come across a Pedro Barbosa, please let me know immediately, thanks.
I hope he's sacked, the guy does my head in with his constant talk of "projects". Reminds of me Big Nige.
Think he has at least the Brum and Napoli game to save his job, but Chelsea haven't had any consistency with the managers since Mourinhio left, they're currently in a transitional period with the old guard coming to the end of their careers and younger players coming through. At 34 and with limited experience of managing at the top of the game, it would be naive of Abramovich to think he'd deliver success straight away, surely with a manager of AVB's age you'd be looking to building for the future? Chelsea like Arsenal are now a shadow of the sides they were 5-10 years ago and this has been accompanied with the rise of Man City, Spurs and the likes of Newcastle and Sunderland up there. The fans just have to accept that.
I apologise if I unearthed a few painful memories there Similarly, an old manager I had from a past job used to look a lot like Ruud Van Nistelrooy (was a woman too) and she used to deny us pay rises/overtime/bonuses or any kind of reward for hard work on a regular basis. This results in an involuntary guttural growl when the horse-faced **** appears on TV. Weird innit
Pedro Barbosa you say? Come on mate what did you expect? The bloke's got a pirates name, you was always going to get fleeced. His great great grandfather even has a character named after him in Pirates of the Caribbean.
Not that I'm trying to suggest anything but I saw Jose Mourinho on King's road london (near the stadium) two days ago... A bit surprising to see him in London midweek, doesn't he have to manage a team? Who knows...
I reckon the bloke who wrote Pirates of the Caribbean must have once done business with a ****er from Portugal.
small change for roman though. avb has to go, i can see him staying and them getting guardiola. maybe.
i think the fact its a situation he has to go halfway through his 1st season, just sums up what a joke that club is...
He gambled with the Napoli game in leaving out the big egos and it backfired, now they are after him, it's whether Abramovich buys into what he is trying to do in rebuilding the team, seems like there are factions in favour of him and against him and it will only work if he can get the antis out of the club.
Abramovich is reaping what he has sown. To sack a manager who won your first ever double then came third, I think it was third, was ridiculous to say the least. It might have even been second. If he honestly thinks this clown AVB is better than Ancelotti he obviously knows **** all about football. The bloke is a tool and I hope they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Point reitorated on Radio 5 tonight, why employ a 34 year old manager if you're not planning for the future and are going to sack him within his first season?
