In light of the media ****athon over loveable 'Arry Redknapp and his non-dubious transfer dealings I thought it worth highlighting the awards today for AVB and Bale as Manager and Player of the month. In his current ridiculously rich vein of form it is easy to forget that prior to his sacking,'Arry had the genius idea of using the massively one-footed Bale on the right for a series of games in which he was innefectual in them all. Indeed the most regular song sung by Spurs fans at the time was "Gareth Bale, he plays on the left".

Still, it's a disgrace he was sacked and then didnt get the England job.

And who's that gimp on Talksport who loves him and hates AVB? I remember the day after his appointment at QPR he said he'd be willing to bet anyone that DQPR finish above Spurs this season. Honestly, he really did. I rarely listen so not sure who it was an I can guarantee he hasnt referenced this recently. Oh i wish Id called in after I stopped driving....

    I've always loved AVB.

I think he is a great manager too...

Gareth Bale played four games consecutively for Spurs on the right under AVB,a dna few more earlier on in the year. Bale has also stated this week 'Arry told him to just do what he wants and gave him far more freedom, so yes you clearly are right.....

You honestly believe he said 'go and do what you want'? Or is Bale just being nice about a former manager to remove some criticism? And if he did then anyway that justifies my point - how can a manager possibly instruct someone to 'do what they want'?!?

I remember that! I'm pretty sure it was a regular QPR fan though, not a member of the talkSPORT team
