I've seen something on BBC about Villa being taken over for £150m? Villa are often in or around the same financial level as NUFC, why would anyone spend £150m on Villa when a similar sum (possibly?) could net you NUFC? Is there a chance we are already in these kinds of talks, given what we have/haven't done recently?

Ashley is a **** - He'll want what he paid, his loan paid back, probably compensation for the loss of free advertising and just to be an even bigger ****, will either want a % of club shop merchandise sales, or money for the shop.

Why would Ashkey sell? Make 40m a year and get free international advertising.

I believe, being a cynic, that Cashley's thought processes run more along the lines of

    a) How much did I pay for NUFC
    b) How much is the free advertising worth to SD
    c) How much is owing on my loan
    d) What profit can I reasonably expect to get out of NUFC for the next 5-10 years.

Add all of the above and that is how much it will take for him to sell.

I agree, I just wondered as Villa seemed to be "worth" more than £150m.

Probably talking about at least £400 million in that case.

I don't know, I think the £150M may be the market rate but market rate doesn't apply , in my view, to how Cashley values things he owns as opposed to others ie think footballers.

if NUFC has recently been valued at approx. £230m, why would Ashley even remotely contemplate selling for anything near £150m.
With the debt, more likely £350m minimum.

The Villa situation is a completely different scenario, and in any case the £150m is only speculation, it could just as easy be nearer £200m.
Lerner is probably keen on a sale, whereas Ashley doesn't need to be rushed into a selling by any ****er.
