For those living outside the UK it might be worth buying a Apple TV which has been jailbroken. I recently bought one off Ebay for $180 and it allows you free access to all world wide live TV including all UK stations and Sky Sports / ESPN. There are no fees all you do is plug it in and it connects to your TV. It has a load of current movies on there as well. I saw the BBC's coverage of the Olympics (much better then US TV's ) Last night I also watched Match of the Day and the Football League show. You can get all the UK radio stations as well, I've got Absolute 80's on just now. Great station.
These have always intrigued me. Obviously you need to have a **** hot internet connection for them to work without buffering all the time right? It all sounds great on paper but are you constantly on the internet looking for upgrades after apple has blocked the jailbreak, or is there just a website you can visit to get the new update for the jailbreak? Sorry for all the questions they just really interest me.
I've had no problems with the streaming or getting connected. I have got high speed internet so that may help. My friend has had his installed for over a year and has never had to upgrade his. In the US it's legal to own a jail break Apple TV due to a court hearing that went against Apple.
I own one living in Leeds as I can't afford to pay for sky just yet as I have moved in alone. It is the best purchase i have ever made and numerous of my friends who have seen it have have gone out to buy one. It is just like having sky in HD and you can watch ESPN aswell as three o'clock kick offs!! There is also highlights of all football matches as soon as they finish. Movies on demand on Icefilms is also fantastic! One word of advice is that it is frustrating when getting to used it at first, quite complicated. I bought mine for £145 in the UK if any one is interested I will link you to the legit guy who i bought mine from 100% feeback on ebay. atigerfan: What application do you use to watch all the sky channels?
