Never develop an app idea yourself. if it any good sell it with a percentage for copyright. Always develop for all common os, ie ios5, android and windows.
I have an industry spefic app that should yield 3 percent. Not much but it should have 1500 users paying a £10 monthly licence by next year .

I'm fed up with coming up with ideas as my peers say my ideas are stupid, everytime I walk past a takeaway and see 'just eat' in the window I feel like crying.
Next idea is wrinklespot.com , over 60's dating, the markets there I tell you.
Don't get me started on all these skyplayer and what not, 2006 with the broadband revolution ****

So if you didnt listen to your peers and went ahead with the idea who would you use to develop them

Im talking very simple gimik ideas that wouldnt cost much to develop and would be some of the cheapest apps on the market, Id also like to start with andriod but then move onto the other markets

Look at a site like Guru.com, its a bit OTT but there are sites that use mainly Indian developers as freelancers to write programmes. Ask to see what they have done before you get committed money wise.
India produces more software developers than any other country (IMO) and some of the best. They seem to have a natural talent for writing code and they are cheap.
The idea, then the code, followed by the launch.

Alternatively buy a book, go to night school and learn how to do it all for yourself.

I advertised at the uni once and got exactly the help that I wanted. The student got work experience (documented) and I got my stuff done on the cheap.

But I would also check out that my ideas where not already out there. It saves sooooo much trouble.

Actually I happen to know a very fine software developement engineer working on his Phd at LSU who writes apps all the time and makes a fortune doing it.
Very nice lad and looking for good ideas all the time and not that greedy when it comes to sharing the profits with the person with the concept.
Billy Bob Ballbag has met him and he is also a Hull City fan and will be in Hull end of next month. He is my son so he pretty much still does what I tell him ha ha ha. If you are serious about this email me at [email protected] and I'll put you in touch with him

That's £5,400 per year if your hopes are realised. Is it worth it?

If you don't mind me asking, what is your relationship with Rick Skelton whose tweets appear on that site?

I'll tell him about the cheese one, that with truffles and caviar and stuff like that for the fine dining types might be a real winner. I'll make sure he cuts you in on it.

Hmm, we could make the cheese one, but I don't know anything about fancy cheese! You'll have to be the cheese tester.

I do mobile app development for Windows Phone and iOS. Nothing with Android yet, but I will shortly.

You guys switch message boards too often...

Tigermarv I have passed the info on to my lad and it's up to you two now, good luck with the project.
If anybody else has any good ideas for an app like something that is not out there and you wish was then please feel free to email me your details and I will put you in touch with him.
My son is a top notch coder that can write practically anything in all computer laguages for anything but he is more of a scientist and I'm more on the artsy side so I'm like his muse that comes up with ideas for him to write.
Like I say he is'nt the greedy type and he knows all about intelectual property and stuff like that so he will be fair if it makes money so get your thinking caps on!
