I of course knew of its existence, but it was long gone by the time I started going to City. Must have been a great experience. Taken from a facebook page "lost football grounds of England"
Bit of a daft question given that it only closed in the mid 80s and there are some right old clochards on this forum. Although I am assuming you’re only about 12 yourself so fair play I suppose.
What an odd assumption to make. If it closed mid eighties, say 85 for arguments sake, that would be 28 years ago. In my opinion, you shouldn't really take a child below 7 or 8 to a football match. That does depend on the child of course. So if my first game was 86 (lets play it safe) and I was 7, that would make me about 35. Not too far off my actual age as a matter of fact. Or were you just trying to be a ****?
I doubt that many people from Hull ever got to ride on the train, it was in the general fleet of LNER/ BR and was just a name plated engine. It was taken out of service in 1960.
