I test-drove one a couple of years ago before deciding on something else (something slightly better value and more reliable). But I must say it drove really, really well, and I think it's a beautiful car.

just had egv/c (not sure of the letters) done and the dpf is fine which seem to be the two main issues with these. just been serviced (300 miles ago) and will have a full MOT. Drove it this morning and she was really really sweet. drove her to her limit in 4 of the gears and she was perfect.

Sort of agree. I've had a couple of Alfas...the electrics are generally ****e and the fun level isn't great. Other than that quite reliable.

Carmen, "buyers regret" is often prevalent with Alfas. I only buy cars which are a bit of fun. What's your budget?

You know they're made by Alfa?

If it is brand new you are buying, and you keep it in mint condition, I'll buy it off you in 2 years for £600.

Looks nice. But so does the Nissan 370Z and that's ****e. Surely he could have got a Porsche?

True, you could get your hands on a Boxster for that sort of cash.
A bit of a hairdressers car but frigging fantastic to drive and a hell of a lot more reliable.

I'd rather just not have a Porsche.

 Got to admit, I thought like that until I borrowed a 3.2 S version for a afternoon.
Totally changed my mind about them

Oh they are very good cars no doubt, but it's just the attitude towards them, like I have just displayed and you've just admitted to once sharing. They're more like half a Porsche.

You can't go round acting Billy big bollocks in it, as someone will just turn round and say "tone it down mate it's only a boxter".

I'd recommend everyone to have two cars, an a to b everyday comfort car, and a loony machine that you build as a project. You will have a bigger sense of pride in your loony project than you would gain from an ordinary car out the showroom.
