Sad to see Alan Whicker has passed away, in the 60s and 70s in particular his programmes were really a window into another world that we all take for granted with today's easy travel. A consummate professional broadcaster who always had interesting subjects to interview, another of our early TV icons has gone. And who could forget one of the greatest TV send-ups of all time?...
