Used to be a pub, then got turned into an Indian. Has since been shut down and is turning into a pub again.

Heard on the grapevine that Ian Ashbee has bought it and is planning on turning it into the Weir II. <doh>

Well I've seen Ashbee's missus around Hessle, especially parked up down Southgate which obviously is quite close to Admiral.

Werent they having relationship trouble before he buggered off to Preston? Maybe she's snapped it up with her settlement money?!?

Kin Hell... times have moved on a bit, used to go in Admiral Hawke as a lad in late seventies early eighties, left the area shortly after and didn`t even realise it had been turned into an Indian ffs. Sh*tty death I gotta get out more!

Be nice to see Admiral as a boozer again. First pub I ever went in as a fifteen year old. A great landlord then by the name of Pete Robbins. Then he left and it got a makeover and became a drug den operated by the boothferry estate mafia. Eventually, after 400 skips of used syringes were removed from the gents bogs it closed and opened as a restaurant.
    Time gentlemen please.

Granby is still there, but the landlord is a ****er. As far as I know Tophouse is still open, but its really struggled over the last couple of years and has been shut a few times!

Top House does still seem to be on the go - it's changed a lot over the years though and the smaller rooms have been knocked through and the atmosphere of the place was very different last time I called in. Granby seemed OK though.
