So we enter the month of October and already 4 managers have been sacked. 1) Ian Bogie re-signed as Stockport manager before he was sacked. next 2) Greg Abbott ex. Hull City who was sacked as recently as september. next 3) Live Wire Italian Paulo Di Canio sacked by Sunderland also in september next 4) Nigel Clough Sacked via text message last saturday by Derby after they lost @ Forest. SO WHO WILL BE THE NEXT ONE ? ....................... many names being mentioned as being under pressure in all 4 leagues for starters. In the PL. Martin Jol, Chris Hughton and Alan Pardew as examples. So, insetad of starting a new thread each time a football manager gets the chop or leaves - Lets keep it all in one thread just like the transfer rumours and predictions. Just a thought like.
I don't think Hughton's in all the much danger yet, at least no more than Holloway. Bruce is now 15th in the better and even that's too high.
Flircroft at Barnsley. Sorry to say, I think it's an impossible job with no money, been batting above their weight for years.
I'd love to see them go down, but they've made some decent signings (Baxter, Brandy) and now have a seemingly spendthrift owner
Quite right Erik it would indeed be fandab - but I'm in certitude they'll avoid it. Quite like to see Bolton go down too. Have no beef with them (and I liked Burnden Park) but it'd be good to see 'em stretching their flaps in Div 3 or Div 4 like they were not so long back.
Big money being put on Cardiff manager Malky Mackay after the crazy Tan man dumped Ian Moody. MM was 25/1 but now 5/2 on. www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-boss-malky-mackay-6161376 www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-boss-malky-mackays-6158805 Appears that this 23 year old has painted some walls in Cardiff to land the post of Head of Recruitement. Tan really has taken a massive gamble over this
Stockport are in Conference North. If you're talking about "all four leagues", then they shouldn't be in the list.
Sheffield Utd manager David Weir looks to be in the last chance saloon after tuesday nights home loss to Hartlepool in the JPT. Nigel Clough rumoured to be ready to take over the Bramhall Lane hot seat.
Well it was Dave Weir who the race and was followed home by Martin Allan(gillingham) and Kevin Blackwell(bury) over the weekend. FFS, Martin Allan has just got Gillingham promoted. Peter Taylor now the favourite for that gig. As for Bury ? twt.............
A bit of a shock that Tony Mowbray walked yesterday especially as Darren Gibson normally sticks with his manager. Maybe this could a job for Nigel Clough. ? Martin Jol looks alot safer now after beating Palace 4-1 last night. Chris Hughton and Malky Mackay go head to head on saturday. Norwich v. Cardiff. Maybe the loser will be the winner of the next sack race. Twt as always.
I know Barry has been sticking his boot in everywhere, but it's a bit rich for another Everton midfielder to stick his nose into another club's business.
Whoops. Should have said Steve Gibson (M'Boro chairman). Far too many Gibsons around. I see that Ian Holloway has come up on the rails IN THIS WEEKS SACK RACE and WON. Utter disgrace CP and Steve Parish. Who do you think wants that mess eh ?
Looks like Chris Hughton the Norwich manager has nudged ahead of Fulhams Martin Jol and Cardiffs Malky Mackay for the next manager to be sacked. 7-0 loss @ Man City. Just how bad were Delia's mob today ? Fecking awful. lol £13.5m spent on Wolfswinkel and Gary Hooper proving to be wonga very well spent so far. Lol.
Well the merri-go-round of manager sackings has gone into over drive since last monday. 1) Portsmouth - Guy Whittingham on monday 2) Crawley Town - Ritchie Barker on tuesday 3) Brizzle City - Sean O'Driscoll on thursday 4) Barnsley - David Flitcroft after saturdays game 5) Wendies - Dave Jones d i t o 6) Fulham - Martin Jol on sunday 7) Wigan - Owen Coyle on sunday made official on monday 2nd dec. Utter madness imo but very interesting comments by the Wigan chairman Dave Whelan re. Coyle. Well he did appoint Coyle afterall so should stick with him. I agree with what Stevenage manager Graham Westley has said. A points deduction for early sackings. Then lets see how many club chairman are trigger happy eh ? So who is next ? AVB ? Chris Hughton ? Mark Hughes ? Nigel Adkins ? Billy Davies ? Will be good fun watching and waiting. Twt as always like.
