Head coach Sean O'Driscoll has tried to rally the team by issuing a statement "Bristol City must not give up in their fight against relegation". Also sayingâ It doesn't really matter where we are, we've got to play like we are top of the league." Would you as a player who is possibly on there way out of the club at the end of the season really be inspired by statements such as these? Or are these just hollow words? View attachment 22686 Think about it the team were in the same position when O'Driscoll replaced former manager Derek McInnes in January. Has anything changed ,granted you are unbeaten at home ,but appear unable to buy a win away, where in theory there is less pressure on the players and coaching staff to gain a result. O'Driscoll added: "We need to look at it and go 'where do we want to be and how do we want to get there?'." If O Driscoll does not know then League 1 football next season is the real aim. Has the O Driscoll experiment worked or is it to early to say? View attachment 22687 Lansdown stated "We've gone through a lot of changes and we're trying to put the club in a stronger position in the future. Ominiously he avoids saying which division the future lies. I would suggest that all the time effort and monies invested by the directors and management in trying to secure a new ground has diverted attention from where it should have been spent, ensuring success on the field of play first. The Directors may pay the ultimate price by enduring relegation from the championship. Its obvious the Directors coaching staff and players are all under extreme pressure but do any of the directors have a blueprint for the future success of the club mapped out? Turning to the weekend six games to play,Saturdays game vs Burnley serial drawers.City cannot buy a win away.....What do you think the result will be its obviously a View attachment 22685 A draw would be positive keeping the survival hope alive. If you lose there are still 15pts to play for. In reality no matter what you do,you are in the hands of the clubs above you! and have to hope that they will slip up continue losing games or implode like Blackburn. So whose fault is it players, coaching staff, management or the directors and what needs to be done to ensure next season is not a repeat of the last three seasons. COR View attachment 22689
Hi Wiz Would you delete this post I have read it again and it sounds a little like a WU which was not as not intended. Cheers COR View attachment 22693
Does anyone think that Burnley would rather we had all three points tomorrow if it helps to send their near neighbours tumbling into League One?
"we've got to play like we are top of the league" ......... If only you had the players to do so Spose it ain't like Rovers could play like they are top of the league...oh wait .... we are top of the current form charts
And on their OS they were all like " I hope we stuff them" 90 minutes later "It's only a friendly, who cares
I was away so missed the match, friendlies are games to try out systems formations and players generally pre season which this one was,you won fair and square. It was unfortunately a sign of things to come if I remember correctly we lost nearly all of our pre season friendlies which was an indication of the season ahead under McGhee. Really you should beat us every time given the amount of cash you have spent on attracting players to Ashton Gate although one off competitive games who knows anyone could emerge the winner. COR
Should beat you everything because you are ****. And going through the same motion you have for the past few seasons, new manager looks good end of the previous season. Come back this time next season if JW is still with you. Oh and before you run back to your faithful leader saying look at what I done on the City board, none of us care what you say cock breath
Rodders I know you are feeling raw given current results and position in the league, however JW has amazingly turned the season on its head nothing like last season under Magoo,he imbues enthusiasm and the will to win defend as a team and dont ever give up we are grinding the opposition down with energy. We will probably end just outside the playoffs which would be fantastic given the poor start under Magoo. Shame that O Driscoll has not managed to effect change in the same way that JW has for us sometimes the Directors need courage to invest in the new manager JW changed the spine of the team the formation attitude of the players and tactics our board recruited him early enough to effect these changes perhaps your board bottled it (no offense) it does not look like blind faith. COR
Different division and a totally different class of football. The championship is a very strong division compared to the 4th division thats a poor class where any half decent squad should be promoted. MM was doing such a ****e job even I could of taken over and improved their results, where as 'in the time' sod has been at the City even Sir Alex wouldn't of saved us, so noway you can compare us to bristol rovers.
The board have to take full responcibility for this relagation,no other to blame. Your board and John Ward have done a sterling job,JW was a fantastic appointment by the gas,as i believe SOD will be for us next season. This last three seasons our board has been a total and utter mess. This will financially hit them hard in the pocket next season with three thousand less ST holders on board, plus less potd punters. The club will need to start well and maintain it,hopefully getting the punters back through the turnstiles.
