City's injury list grows as O dowda joins the longterm absentee's, it means we will have to go through the busiest period of the season with a much depleted squad.
looks like Leko and or Elliason wil get extended playing time ...

    5 more for a team!

Not good news but we all know these situations arise for all clubs at some point and the acid test comes with your ability to ride out the storm. I think we are better served this season to make changes without affecting our ability to win and Boro will give us the chance to test our mettle against a good side. Having said my piece it's is surely time to start making Ashton Gate a fortress where all other clubs fear to tread and let's hope they leave the bus back up north.

Luckily we have some cover with Elisaon but with the Christmas fixtures soon upon us it will be difficult to rest and rotate many players. It’s a heavy list with at least 3 regular first teamers on that list, we can not afford any more.

'O’Dowda joins Eros Pisano, Jens Hegeler, Famara Diedhiou, Ivan Lucic and Gary O'Neil out for the long term.'

This is why teams like us drop away after a good start. We don't have the depth of quality to be able to cope with injuries or bans, whereas bigger teams do.

Actually we don't know how long CoD will be out for yet. From the OS:

Callum O’Dowda will undergo surgery tomorrow (Thursday) on his ankle.

The Irish international sustained the injury in Saturday’s 3-2 victory at Hull City, limping out of the game early in the second half.

City head physio Steve Allen told bcfc.co.uk: “Callum will undergo a diagnostic arthroscope operation to ascertain any damage sustained in the challenge and stabilise the ankle joint.

“Once the surgery has taken place, we should have a clearer indication as to how long we will be without Callum for.”

O’Dowda has been involved in 22 of City’s 23 matches so far this season, scoring against Crystal Palace and Cardiff City, as well as earning his first start for Republic of Ireland.

if it was you or I we get a packet of aspirins, soak in cold water 3 times a day for a week, elasticated bandage told to keep our foot up, don't drive and come back in a month if still having pain .....
