Well, Just had a message (belated...) from the lad who i mentioned on the mad thread yesterday relating to N'Zog, the lad who works at the club.... Brief word with Bruce re N'Zog, Bruce is 'confident of talks with N'Zogbia', so, readinto that what you will, i'd suggest it means maybe we've met Wigans asking price and are awaiting a response. Defoe was NOT at the AOL yesterday at any point, but he DID NOT train with Spurs (there could be several reasons for this of course, Gyan, for example, didn't train with us) You can take this as truth, as you all know me, and my posting history. So maybe there is legs in this.
I think he would Rog, i think he's similar to Bent in the 'needs to feel loved' way, and he would be, despite peoples misgivings, once signed, he would be backed to the hilt.
Oh BB why oh why, was just settling down for a quiet weekend and now I'm all excited again, cant even call you a wum coz you aint.
I completely believe it. The club said we haven't bid for them is just to try and prevent a bidding war. I think a deal between Zog and the club has been more or less agreed since Jan myself. We shall see, all I know is I trust the club to do what it thinks is right.
It is what it is mate 'confident of having talks with him'. So he ain't had talks with him, he ain't signing today, but it suggest there's been movement for sure.
Rather have Defoe than the Womble......... why would we break the bank and pay cap, for a greedy ****ing mercenary......who is obviously playing us off against other clubs.. Ok on his day he is good..........but i'm really not arsed about him. If he comes, i hope he proves me wrong, same as Sess did, and doesn't do a Muntari and flop on his Garlic arse.
What makes you think he is playing us off against other clubs? Speculation about moves to Villa, Liverpool and THEM, could well be just paper talk and we and Zog are just waiting on Whelan. Its not beyond the realms of possibilities is it?
Nah mate, no clutching at straws here. Just trying to look at things in the light of our recent dealings. Short and Quinn havent let us down yet. I mean, its not like they have sold a top goal scorer and England center forward for a **** load of money and then lied through their teeth to the fans about reinvesting that money have they?...
Basically he has been linked with us for eternity, and he wants money. Plus as you say all the speculation about the other clubs could be paper talk, why do you think our link is any different...Why would we break our wage structure for him........he's good but not that good. This i feel is correct....
Well I don't know that our link isn't just paper talk, for all I know it may well be. But we wanted him in January, Bruce admitted that, and the only sticking point then was Whelans asking price. 7 months on and only 12 months left on his contract and that asking price is only getting smaller. Its a game and we are just waiting for Whelan to blink. Then again, maybe I'm just reading too much into it all and we never were interested... Don't think so though.
It's true though, that as the fee lowers, N'Frog can justifiably expect more in terms of wages, the outlay now from January, overall, would be similar, but the make up different. The attitude is the thing to get around, but Bruce has managed him once, and wouldn't go back in if the 'trouble of the park' line had any weight, surely? Bruce, more than anyone, knows this season is mammouth for him, if he gets it wrong again, he can realistically expect to be out the door, and he'd have to rebuild his reputation at a smaller club with a significantly reduced budget.
Christ when i read the title i thought you meant Micky Horsewill in which case it would definately have been pure unadulterated manure.
i still think we'll sign nzogbia, but if we don't, so ****! but we do need a left wiger. if we do sign a good left winger and manage to get welbeck on loan i'll start fancying our lass again
