NEWCASTLE new-boy Yohan Cabaye has revealed how fellow Toon target Charles N’Zogbia helped to convince him that a move to “special” St James’ Park was the way forward.
And it appears the influence of N’Zogbia – who is keen on a move back to Tyneside from Wigan – played a big part too.

“I spoke to Charles N’Zogbia before joining Newcastle. He said it was a good choice to come to Newcastle,”

He revealed how watching Newcastle’s 5-1 derby demolition of Sunderland on TV, after negotiations on the move had started, has got him excited about playing in front of a full-house at St James’ Park.

“Nzogbia said I would have a great time, especially with the fans.
And those fans appear special. Before signing for Newcastle, I watched some videos on the internet, and particularly the game against Sunderland when Newcastle won 5-1."

United have made N’Zogbia one of their prime targets but are happy to wait for developments with the Wigan wide-man.
He is rated at £12m, a price United would pay if they missed out on other targets.

Interesting stuff, hopefully Charlie really does want to come back!!

Nice of CNZ to big us up to Cabaye, would like us to get him even if it has to be for the quoted 12m, but only after we get a striker in.

Good to see Nzog is bigging us up, might be a sign he wants in, but im not sure I want him too much, his attitude can be a bit ****ty and i'm not sure where he would fit in our system ? plus 12mill?????? really? 8mill tops i would say but the pl's prices are way too inflated think Pardew's doing the right thing delving in to the French Leagues looking for Tiote/cabeye value buys

Everyone keeps posting these 5 man-midfield orgasmic set ups but they're all only half as good as they look unless we've got someone decent up top!

Don't think Krul would be a good defender myself.

Aaah, good kid Zog! Would be cool to have him back, always liked him as a player, just a shame he was a bit of a ****er in the way he left. Although, JFK did make a massive contribution to his departure.

    And here's mine:
    ----Tiote----Cabaye-----
    Ferguson or (? Nzogbia)---Ben Arfa----Barton

Jonas can go, his efforts lose the ball too often and he just provide enough assists.

I still don't see Cabaye (or Barton for that matter) as a really pushed forward midfielder, or Ben Arfa as a winger, so mine is this:

    Barton/Cabaye---Tiote
    N'zogbia (or Jonas)-----Ben Arfa/Nolan------Jonas/Fergie

Even behind Best thats pretty decent. As far as Jonas goes, having two other players in that midfield who can also act as an outlet means that he might actually have space to move into and time to make decisions rather than having to beat two men running from the halfway line every time. Might be the making of him to have players to pass to.
