http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/formulaone/article-2183174/Nurburgring-future-secured-now.html The german government has bailed out the 'ring, which has been close to financial collapse for a while now. Great news for petrolheads worldwide. Just thought i'd share the good news.
The least they could do really, after all they bailed Greece out and the 'Ring's more important than them.
That's funny. Thanks to Kyle for beating me to making another article about Nordschliefe. As you say, it's important to petrolheads worldwide and would be a motoring tragedy if it were lost to the silly, money-losing theme-park which has put it into its current difficult financial position. P.S. I must admit that if this article had gone into its rightful section (because it is not F1), I would probably have missed it, just as everyone missed my previous article there. By coincidence, it was also about the Nürburgring 24H which utilises Nordschliefe! http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/145573-The-BIG-one-Nürburgring-N24
What a shame the Daily Mail don't know the difference between Nürburgring and Spa, eh, Kyle? (Check their headline photo)
I've just noticed. Typical Fail. For the record, the run from la source to Eau Rouge would be an excellent addition at the Nordschleife
I know what you're getting at, and yes, it wouldn't be at all out of place. But to be honest, there are more than enough equivalents already and many of them are even more challenging! P.S. Tilke seems only just beginning to realise the secret ingredient in most really good tracks: rapid elevation changes*! Laguna Seca's Corkscrew, and Mount Panorama (Bathurst)'s Skyline/Esses/Dipper are other good examples of truly classic sections of track. Even Donington Park, Mallory, Oulton, Knockhill and Brands Hatch (GP) have good examples. *Rare exceptions are Silverstone and Monza.
It's tricky after a heavy snowfall. Have you got a rope? All I can say for certain is that my Grandmother can't manage it: she's been six foot under for some time…
Grandmother jokes!!!?? How very tasteless of you cosicave, your parents should be ashamed of you I probably couldn't manage it, but i'm lazy. I'd hire a car and drive up it backwards
Sorry, this post is off topic, and for this, you must suffer. As i type, the off-topic police are jamming a CD of whale songs into your cars CD player.
Have you ever listened to whale songs? Not pretty, i'd rather spend an hour listening to Justin bloody Bieber.
The huge loans to fund the redevelopment were s shambles, based on numbers the track was never going to attain. I hear prices to drive it are ridiculous now, in one way I'd hope the holding company would go bust so to get the track out of such greedy hands but then you would worry about the future of the track itself
