Its so weird that the selection process is so public, with statements being made to the press as to why persons are not selected ! Whoever comes in now is the fourth or fifth choice manager - is it because Levy truly is just looking for a new lapdog yesman who will accept no money and Kane’s leaving, rather than someone who will take you forward as a Gooner I do have to chuckle at your predicament but you guys must be pulling your hair out
What statements have been made to the press? The only things I've seen are stories written by the press.
Depends what you mean by the best. There are probably around 1,000 elite professional coaches in the world. We are definitely trying to get one of the top thirty. Top 3% is the best. There are at least 20 coaching jobs more sought after than ours so we should expect most good candidates to reject us.
Chuckle - laughing your socks off more like! Its a farce in fact if this was written as a script to a comedy sketch it would be rejected as being too unbelievable - to think that a supposedly smart and canny business man can get so much wrong in such a short time is just........ - I am actually lost for words that can accurately describe this level of incompetence. I am not currently in the mood to be fair to Levy, but despite that I would say that I am not sure that he has gone for yes men in his permanent appointments as manager, a couple like AVB and Poch were young and he may have seen them as malleable, but managers like Jose, Harry and Ramos were certainly not.
Can the mods take down the header to this thread, it is like offering a starving dog a rubber bone or that bit from Bullseye where they showed you the Austin Allegro that you could have won but you leave with a Bully tankard and a set of darts
Are we? Even if we are is it a better strategy not to try the other other six? This is a completely normal process for appointing a senior manager. Of course we should be interviewing about 10 candidates several times each. Of course the ones we like best might not get over the line. Why is that even surprising never mind embarrassing or shambolic.
He had a plan so cunning that Mr Fox from Fox Town would not have a clue as to what is going on Baldrick
The analogy is weak. A more realistic one is the first buyer may keep the house state the same or improve it, while the second will potentially make it an even worse state.
