he isnt actually a striker.... I hate when attacking players are played as striker because they dont play as out and out strikers. They always play deeper but you want pacey strikers to be playing off the last man like beckford did and mccormack does
He offers nothing defensively - just ask Aidan White following the Donny game. To play Nunez he would have to partner Keough upfront and drop McCormack
doesnt matter how bad he is defensively, that doesnt make him a striker. I dont care what people say but gradel offers absolutely nothing defensively. He works hard but he still cant defend. I have mixed opinions on whether nunez should be playing or not but he should not be played upfront regardless, especially with mccormack playing well
It matter very much how Nunez defends. Defence starts with the forwards and is the duty of all 11 players. Ask Aidan White how he felt on Tuesday following the Donny match when left 2on1 several times because Nunez was not tracking back at all. Left side of midfield needs to know when to defend and when to attack. Nunez at present knows only one way. Max Gradel - dosnt his song go "Hes here, he's there, hes every flipping where Max Gradel Max Gradel" - that song was chosen because Max is up and down the pitch every game. He wins the ball for Leeds countless times in a match in both halves of the field. He is one of the best defensive wingers i have ever seen at Leeds, so really not sure what games youve been watching lately. To further my point take Davide Somma. Why was he not in the team when scoring for fun? One big reason is because he cannot defend. Who is the best defender of set-pieces at our club - its Becchio!! Somma was at fault for a few goals last season - i remember one when he turned his back on a player out on the touchline who simply fiented, took the ball a few more metres and had time to pick out his man for a goal. Becchio would have blocked the cross. If you saw MOTD yesterday you will have seen Rooney who having just scored a hattrick racing back 40 yards to offer support for his left-back.
Yea i agree with you. I think you missed my point. Just because you cant defend, that doesnt make you a striker. Having bad defensive qualities, doesnt mean that you can sit off the last man and makes those runs that mccormack is currently doing. Nunez is better coming from deeper And about max, i dont doubt his work rate and things, however that does not mean you know how to defend just because you are getting back. He often gets back and defends as if he wasnt there in the first place. He makes a nuisance of himself but that is it really. About wingers that can defend, i reckon snoddy is pretty good at that tbf
