Premier League clubs chase Leicester City striker Burnley, West Ham United, Swansea City and Hull City are all interested in Leicester City striker David Nugent, according to the Daily Mirror. Nugentâs contract with Leicester City expires at the end of the month and according to reports talks have stalled after Nugent demanded a three-year deal. Burnley, West Ham United, Swansea City and Hull City are all said to be monitoring the situation. Nugent was Leicester Cityâs top goalscorer last term, bagging 20 league goals to fire the Foxes back to Premier League. City will be keen to keep their star striker, who is one of the few in their current squad with Premier League experience.
Yeah, I tend to agree. H'es still to prove he can cut it at Prem level. That said, t's a good sign that all the clubs interested are Prem clubs though (assuming that's not agent's bull). Not just us biased fans that think he's good enough.
He's only 29, why not give him a 3 year deal? Whatever league we may be in years to come, he's a good person to have around.
I'd be happy to give him a two year deal because he deserves it ... but he has never set the Premiership alight and needs to prove that he can at least be a regular ... a two year deal means that he proves he is worth an extension ... if not he is more likely to be accommodating when we look to unload him to a Championship club with just a year to run etc ...
He does seem to be a good person to have around. Always puts a shift in. Would be more than happy to give him 3 years at the right price wagewise.
I would offer a 2 year deal with a clause saying if he makes 20 appearances in his 2nd season he gets an automatic 1 year extension Everyone would be happy with that
