Cardiff City centre-half Ben Nugent has joined League One Brentford on loan. Bees manager Uwe Rosler asked about Nugent after Cardiffâs pre-season friendly at Griffin Park and Bluebirds boss Malky Mackay gave the go-ahead as soon as he had completed the signing of Steven Caulker from Spurs. Nugent, 20, needs to be playing and Brentford, who are at Port Vale in their first League match this Saturday, will offer him that chance. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...135?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
An excellent move for both parties i believe, Nugent will get plenty of game time playing for what will be one of the front runners in League 1
Best thing for Ben at this stage of his career and a very good bit of business by Rosler to secure him. Brentford have been knocking on the door of the Championship for a while now, and that sort of deal could push them over the line. If I was a Bristol City supporter, I'd very worried that one of the promotion spots was filled. If they'd come in for him themselves, I'd say the same thing about them - he's that good. Maybe Rosler was just in the right place at the right time to ask the question with our friendly game up there on Tuesday.
They are not impressed over here Hilts, Lansdown has cut back on the money he is going to spend believe they will be mid table.
OK, I admit it - Ben wouldn't have made that much difference at the Wurzels............... If bringing JET into the squad was SOD's master move for challenging for promotion, I think they're gonna suffer an embarrassing season in League One. Lansdown has the cash on the hip - and I mean liquid cash, not just paper dosh - he just won't put it on the line. He's eventually going to get pissed off with personally picking up £14M losses every year. How long will he do that? Anyway, don't want to deflect this thread from Ben's loan out - the best of luck to him.
Being a lefty I thought we may have hung on to him, but it is important for him to get game time and I'm sure he'll come back the better for it.
