So when does the backlash start? After all Beckford gets slated for not scoring or is it selective criticism by the fans?
A non scoring Nugent contributes more to the team than a non scoring Beckford but agree that he needs to end the drought quickly. Whatever the strike force it's unlikely to score 3 goals every away game, which we need at the moment to win them!
They're both very good strikers. Don't know why either are failing. It just happens sometimes. It's a cliche i know,but you don't become ****e over night. Are they missing loads of chances ? As for strikers getting slated for not scoring,Fryatt was getting slated on our board last season,even though he was the only striker we had hitting the onion bag !
Nuge and becks built up a good partnership after Xmas. Am fed up with np falling out with our best players and persisting with the ones he bought even if they're underperforming. Why he brought waggy on today is beyond me
never been Nugent's greatest fan as regulars on here will know - he is not a Centre Forward ... he also annoys me coz he spends too much time gobbing off ... whether it's 'pally chat' to opponents or whingeing at refs .... he had 3 good chances today and didn't hit the target ... the 'header back across goal' was shocking really as I think he actually meant to score but misjudged woefully .. if he didn't it was poor judgement because any striker worth his salt would have been going for goal ... he is out of form and heeds benching IMHO ... Waggy should have scored perhaps but at least he hit the target with his one chance ..
Say what you like, the lad looks quality at the moment, unlike your lot. So last season your ammunition was 'You never score, you're boring, etc, etc' don't know what it's going to be this year. As for the comparison with Ronaldo, all I said was that he was in top form, which is true, whateverever way you look at it. A 1 in 2 record so far this season as well as a decent number of assists.
Funny, I was going to start my article with 'Are we turning into Hull'. With the point being that we're creating no end. However, Fryatt was your only striker with any sort of pedigree and he always did need 5 chances per goal for us so I wasn't surprised you couldn't score. Now, as we all know, King, Nugent, Beckford, Marshall and (if he finds his feet - which he seems to be doing so) Vardy. I highly doubt it'll continue for the season, do you? Im sure by the end of the season you will av out scored alot of teams in the league, Nugent will end up with double figures hes a quality Championship player, thought you was unlucky today, a draw would av been a fair result.
Difference was, we had a quality defence whilst not scoring many. You look like you have a weak defence and are struggling to score goals, not a great combination. Earlier you said Fryatt needed 10 chances for every goal, has his conversion rate doubled in the last few hours? Now it would appear that we have Fryatt, Simpson, Aluko, Quinn, Koren and even Faye capable of hitting decent figures. As we all know ... what? Just because you scored goals last year doesn't mean you will this season.
