    Alright lads?

So on my NUFC blog I have been posting about the players I think NUFC should sign this summer and today I suggestion is Wes Brown.

What do you lot think of him? could he be available? how much? would he be good for NUFC?

    Cheers

He's all yours! He's a decent defender, but too error prone after his injury and surgery in 08/09. I think SAF would let him go in the summer now Smalling's proved to be so good.

As for whether he'd be good for NUFC, I'm not sure what sort of form your current defenders are in. He's got great experience, and probably still has a few years in him, and will get his consistency back with a run in the team, but he's not good enough to keep out a more promising youngster.

He is out of contract this summer. So he would be free and I dont see us giving him another one.

Wes has been seriously poor for a couple of years and has barely played this year, and he is also injury prone.

Your welcome to him, but I dont think he would be ahead of taylor or colichini, and I think he would want regular football.

It'll be a shame to see him go really as he's been there since a kid and has rarely complained. But he's past his best.

During his longest spell in the side (07/08) he was outstanding. He has proved robust and solid over the majority of his career. He picked up an injury in Sept '08 and hasn't really been used as much since he returned. He's been dropped in the deep-end recently against Liverpool / Marseille and had to partner a more in-form, albeit less experienced CB partner.

He does pick up injuries and i've read that he is the 'laziest' player in training. He is also rumoured to be out of favour with Ferguson and could move in the summer.

A move might be good for him and with a decent spell of games under his belt, I think he could be an asset again for another team.
