NUFC manager scenario

Pretend you are the manager of Newcastle United football club.

The transfer window has just opened -

Jose Enrique has been sold for an undisclosed fee on the first day.

The club has also accepted an undisclosed fee for Joey Barton, and he is sold after agreeing terms with his new club.

Mike Ashley and the club have been told not to reveal your transfer budget to the general public, however he has told you that he will give you a substantial amount of the Carroll money to strengthen the squad.

It's 11am on the 3rd day of the transfer window, and you recieve a call from Mike Ashley stating you will have 15 million pounds to spend on players, and if you need any more money you will have to sell players.

Remember Enrique and Barton do not count as they've been sold already, and you have been told that the money from those two transfers will not be invested back into the club.

Before you start, you find out that Kevin Nolan has been offered a new contract and has accepted terms, so you don't need to worry about his contribution next season.

You know your squad, buy and sell who you need.

£15 million total at your disposal, and remember if you need anymore you will have to sell.

P.S. Be realistic.. Don't go selling Ameobi for 30 million and adding it to your total. If you're going to sell players or buy players, make up realistic transfer fees. Not Lionel Messi for a quid or something ridiculous like that.

I would kill Ashley and Lambiarse.

Make it look like Carroll did it by leaving traces of horse **** next to the bodies , wait till someone else takes over and start from scratch

on a serious note i think this is a tough situation. I'd have a word with Graham Carr and say 'look we're ****ed and need good bargains, what you found?'

 

I think if everyone tries this out properly it'll be a good solid brain work out. A tough situation that i thought up of and i'd like to see what you guys would do in this situation.

 

I would be in the boardroom asking him what the **** he was playing at, and if I didn't like his response I'd tell the press everything that is going, while checking who was available on a free, and ask Graham Carr for the best bargains.

 

I'd buy loads of foreign players who speak little or no English and point and shout at them to get my point across.

 

I'd pay £30m for another club to take him off our hands.

I'd resign, would cost 15mil minimum to replace Barton and Enrique, let alone bring in a good striker.

 

TBH we'll have more than £15mil to spend before Barton and Enrique leave so i want more like £30mil minimum
