To go with our family values main sponsor, MA has agreed a deal with The Sun, that bastion of honesty and fine news reporting, to become our official media partner.

The Sun have agreed to become media partner of #nufc. In other words the newspaper version of the official website. Access but no criticism!

Sub-plot at #Nufc - The Sun is clearly their 'preferred' newspaper partner. Only national represented at Cabella, Colback & both De Jong 'unveilings' - as well as others - at a time when access to non rights holders is being cut. Been told repeatedly that Ashley wants to break tradition of papers having free access to clubs, matches, notwithstanding free advertising in return. Wouldn't be shocked if there was an announcement of some sort of official tie-in with The Sun and, if so, potentially big implications for the industry.

One thing I've heard - may just be a proposal for now - is that The Sun could sponsor #Nufc Academy & so could present any arrangement as them 'leading search for next Gazza' for example.Would still be form of paid-for access. And what would fans of other clubs think?

Lovely upstanding rag to be linked with. To be fair, there is not much between these, the local press and others for their creative writing skills. Even some of the more high brow papers are just gossip columns where sport is concerned. The internet has changed their world across the board.

Just Ashley trying to push to get ahead of the game. More money to be made as a trendsetter for a club like us.

Surely this thread should be merged with the "Almost completely crap but......" thread?

    Just saying!

I hope this is just a case of the rag deciding to agree to pay Ashley's access charge rather than an official association with these lowlife scum.

    Couldn't care less personally.

Didn't read The Sun before, won't read it now and I certainly have never considered paying for access to its tacky website.

Does anyone even read newspapers anymore for football news or anything else? It's all on Twitter first anyway.

And if Mike Ashley had ever cared one jot for positive PR he would have made The Big Issue the official media partner. He's a businessman, little else.
