Had a chat with Bri over PM and we both felt it was a good idea to create a specific thread for the spicey side of Derby Day banter (posted on both, the SAFC board and this one).

There will be a normal match day thread of course but this will help keep some of the more lively stuff in one place and off general threads as we enter the run up to the big day.

So... are we feeling hopeful?

Any Mackems thinking their lads will continue their recent run against us?




PS- Bri.. cheers for lending me this banner... saves me s**tloads of time.

 

Keep up our current form and the derby is going to be interesting. We look dangerous going forward and finally look like we can keep the goals out at the other end.

 

At some point soon the Mackems will find a bit of form I feel.

Who knows how this will go. Form is out the window. We've been ****e for seasons but seem to turn up for this one.

 

I can't begin to think about unwashed at present. We have 6 games between now and then, including a quarter final. If we are in the form we are at present I suspect we'd win. Difficult to say what form we'll be in then and how many injuries/suspensions each side will have. Those three factors always have an impact on derbies.

 

I think it will be a blood and thunder affair on a muddy field on a bastard cold day.
Off the field I expect both fans to unite to pay our joint respects to Liam and John. I for one will clap the Mackem fans before the game for their fundraising efforts.
Once the whistle goes though it will be business as usual.

Did you know Sunderland has a Disney store? They do! They let all the special girls and boys of Mackem-land in there to meet Mickey and dress up like a princess (that way round)... They also let in children apparently.
