In the cup against Norwich last year we were given less tickets than we should have got because our fans were considered to be "high risk"
Doubt Luton fans would be considered high risk anywhere other than when playing Watford - there is a pretty fierce rivalry there .
More recently Luton V Rushden & Diamonds Luton V York where the players had to take cover in the stand because of the fans I can assure it's not just when they play Watford
I don't want to generalise all Luton fans but didn't the edf league get started by a bunch of luton fans and still consists of a high proportion of Luton fans?
Lcfc#fan - I live just over the boreder in Herfordshire and work on a business park just off J10 of the M1 (Luton Airport) - I'm not sure the EDF sprang up out of the football firm which, like nearly every club, Luton undoubtedly have - there was a documentary on the telly some time ago re the EDF - Luton has a very large moslem community, a minority of which have formed a very public extremist movement which has both organised demonstrations against the troops parading in Luton (and elsewhere) etc and has also been advocating strict Sharia law being implemented in the UK etc - the EDF seems to have sprung up in Luton partly as a knee jerk reaction to this group and it's stance (from the TV doc) as well as also being a focus for right wing extremeists - they like to portray themselves as inclusive (again from the TV doc) and as opposing islam raher than being racist by nature (hence including a seikh as one of their prominent members) ... In terms of football hooliganism; yes there was a bit of a rumpus with Rushden & Diamonds, which is a local derby and also an incident with York City - but Accrington Stanley and Hull have kicked off in York - it's a nice place for a day out! I was in a Harpenden (stop on the train line before Lutoon) pub having a drink with a mate a couple of years ago and witnessed the assembly of the QPR firm who had agreed to meet in that pub before getting back on the train to go to Luton for what appeared to be a pre-arranged meet- so yes they have an 'active' firm but I don't think they are anywhere near the top end of the 'risk' pyramid
