Now that we have our first away win in the PL since 1994 and our first win of the season we can now forget about comparisons with the 2004/2005 team and the fact we failed to get an away win all season and failed to get a win until November that season. This is a new team and a better team.
Wonky, Bolton are certainly amongst the candidates for relegation and they've lost four on the trot. Why do you think they should be in the top half? I had them and Sunderland down as the two - should-win fixtures of your first dozen or so games.
This match illustrated why our team now is way better than 04. This team has a resilience and balance that they didn't have and Paul lambert the best manager in the universe at the helm. Very Impressed.
They've done very well over the last couple of seasons. But their games this season have shown that they're not doing so well this season, but we will see what happens.
Sturridge won them a lot of points last season. Think they will end up regretting not cashing in on Cahill - don't think he wants to be there. I think whether you survive will depend on keeping the morale going by picking up points. A defeat yesterday and you would've been bottom and we could've seen that vital team spirit ebb away.
Possibly but we will not know now as we won and are now mid table. On the evidence of 5 games, as long as we 'wise up' at the back, we have a good a chance as anyone of staying up and I am liking watch us play away and going for it every time as opposed to sitting back and trying to contain for 90 minutes.
I had forgotten, all those draws and defeats..................... At least we beat Man U under Worthy so maybe we can do it again......... R Martin for CB?
O, my bad, just looked at last season's table. They ended up 14th, they must have slipped away at the end of last season.
Totally different teams, you can tell by the outlook and attitude the players have. They care about the club I got the feeling with the 04/05 team there was quite some ego's as we found out after the Fulham game and Damien Francis's jaw.
