...do you think the Gooners will make a tapping-up bid for Moddy? He'd be an ideal replacement for Fab, and is one of only a handful of centre midfield playmakers who could fill his boots.

Also, do you think we'll ever receive an apology from all the Gooner WUMs who gave it large about Fab being happy at The New Library?

The quote I like the best is this:-

    (from a BBC article)

When asked if the club expected an improved offer this week [on the £27 million offer made last week], the source said: "Possibly yes, and if it's enough then I expect we'll have to sell."

    (end of quote)

Notice that the club is admitting that they will "have" to let him go. The only reason why they would have to let him go is if Fab has told them he will put in a transfer request, something that would be an absolute PR disaster for both Whinger and the AFC board.

This is pretty much the same thing that's going on with Modric.
Not content with trying to buy a player that they're uncomfortable paying the right price for, a big money team uses it's influence with the media to try and unsettle the player and get him on the cheap.

I don't think that Wenger will be that bothered about Fabregas going, as he seems to want to bring Wilshere through in his position, plus he's got Ramsey available too, but I'm sure that he's aware that it'd be a PR disaster with the fans.
If Fabregas, Clichy and Nasri all leave, which I find unlikely, then expect the Goons to actually spend some money this summer.

You didn't need a pipe and deerstalker to work out that it was always going to be " when" he went home, not "if". I can't believe than any Gooner, who isn't totally deluded, is at all surprised.

    There are non-delusional Gooners?!
    Surely not.

Yes, I'd forgotten that. How clever of him to spot the comparison, when nobody else can see it.:emoticon-0100-smile

If they keep leaving it his value will drop, ultimately leaving for nothing if he runs his contract down. He's going at some point soon, so its aswell to cash in while he's at the right end of his contract. I would imagine thats all their board is thinking about.

I'm pretty sure that it irks the Gooners that they'll have to sell Fab to Barca for £30 million, when they all believe he's worth £50 million.

I truly hope that Barca stick to their offer of £27 million so that Whinger has to face the ignominy of having Fab put in a transfer request. That would be poetic justice, after all the rose-tinted crap we've had to put up with from goonlets about how much Fab "loves" AFC <laugh>

I'd love it if the Fab saga turned became their version of our Berbatov debacle. You'd soon have a section of the Gooner end at The New Library bringing out their "sack Whinger" placards.
