and a new day dawns I must confess it was good last night, the excitement of, Llorente, Doumbia, McGeady, Bannan, Defoe, Saha etc. now we can get back to our sensible heads, any more news on Fletcher?
GABBY AGBONLAHOR claims there is not a Black Cat in hell’s chance of him joining ex-boss Martin O’Neill at Sunderland. The Aston Villa striker is focused on convincing new manager Paul Lambert he is the perfect partner for Darren Bent. Agbonlahor said: “When you’ve played with a manager before, especially one as good as Martin O’Neill, then you are going to be linked with him. “But it’s just pure speculation. I can assure Villa fans I haven’t heard anything about it and I’m happy here. arriving today then
But some better news at least that Aussie won't score against us again. Everton have reached an agreement with Major League Soccer that midfielder Tim Cahill can be transferred to New York Red Bulls. Cahill has been at Goodison Park since 2004 but is set to end his long-standing association with the club in favour of a switch to the United States for a "nominal fee", thought to be in the region of £1million. The Toffees confirmed the agreement on their official website on Monday evening, with the 32-year-old Australia international's potential move dependent on him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical. A club statement said: "Everton have agreed with Major League Soccer (MLS) that Tim Cahill can be transferred to the New York Red Bulls. "Tim, 32, will move to the Red Bulls for a nominal fee, subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical. He will travel to the US in the next few days." Cahill joined the Toffees from Millwall and has notched up 278 appearances over the eight years he has spent at Goodison, scoring 68 goals. edit...just realised there's a thread about this.
Lets be honest about our potential signings . . . . . none of us has a clue just who MON and ES have in mind.
I would wet myself with excitement if we signed Llorente and Doumbia. It would be a prophecy from the bible, 40 days and 40 nights of flooding. But thankfully, I doubt this to be true, so you can all hold off plans to build and Ark for now
Aye it was. We actually won something with those two up front. A season flashed before my eyes, and we were FA Cup champs. Ach well, a few more hours until bed and I can try for the Champs league
True to an extent Davie, but imagine if you were ITK and you were itching to give out some kind of clue to the outside world because you were either about to burst with excitement, or you just wanted to be acknowledged and respected as a good source of inside info and wanted to be the first to let out just enough clues without being sussed by your peers. I know a lot of twitter is just wind, but if a club is only making enquiries to test the water, and bork at the asking price or indeed the wages, this doesn't say the twitter was rubbish, it simply means that you knew for a fact the club was making enquiries with a view to settling on a bargain or a gamble. I don't know, I kinda like the fact that twitter seems to hold more credance or hope for some reason, than one man's idea of speculation in the gutter press. What do you think ?
Mind, like you said, we all got orgasmic on a rumour, just think what would happen if we signed one, how many babies born in 9 months called xxxxx
I love twitter and its rumours, nobody in their right mind will believe it but, when you like the rumour you sort of cast common sense to one side and want to believe
More...but not twitter but skysports. Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath claims to have blocked a number of approaches for in-demand frontman Patrick Helmes. The Germany international, who has been a regular source of goals in the Bundesliga for some time now, is reported to have attracted interest from Sunderland. West Brom are also believed to be keen on taking the 28-year-old to England, and have enquired as to his availability. Wolfsburg are, however, reluctant to part with a player who has spent 18 eventful months on their books. Turned down "We are not interested in transferring Patrick Helmes and a move is out of the question," Magath told Kicker-Sportmagazin. "It's a fact that we have been receiving enquiries for his services, but I have turned all of them down." Valencia are another side to have been strongly linked with a move for Helmes, but the 28-year-old forward says he has no interest in joining the Spanish outfit. "I am not joining Valencia," he said. "A transfer to Valencia has never been an issue for me to consider."
On the Fletcher front, he scored a brace for Wolves including a stunning overhead kick, think he'll be staying there unless someone pays £10m +
