Old Peacock has closed its doors. Hopefully someone will step up and get it going again. In all my visits over, love to have a few pints there and enjoy the old memorabilia.Could this be another bit of Bates master plan, close all local clubs so fans will have to spend all their cash at his banqueting facilities and club bars. Sad to see it go though.. Must be some good news due shortly

Pub is owned by Greene King. The present londlords got into money difficulties and handed the keys back to the brewery. Would not have thought it would be long til new landlords are found. Place would be heaving match days....

Problem is there are only 23 match days a year. It doesn't matter how much you take in those days, if there is little or no income for remainder of year, no business can make a profit. That seems to be the issue

So you telling me there is no demand for that type of business in Beeston? Who'd a thunk that?

Still, the Beeston village will be a roaring success. Not.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the lads from LUSC who have done so much to keep the Old Peacock running since 2007...

    It will return...

Do you like it so much because they charge the kind of beer prices you're used to in Ireland?

Great, historic pub which is a part of the Leeds United tradition, but still, the Supporters Club have failed to run it properly and I'm sure someone will come in and take the reins. It's too good a proposition to be left there crumbling.

Beer actually seems cheap there compared to what were used to. Like it I suppose cos it's a kind of ritual with me when I'm over. Used to go there with my Dad when he was well enough to travel. Always bring the daughters there these days. Three generations of Leeds fans in our house. So I've some nice memories of the place going back to a time when I caught the ferry and drove 190 miles to a midweek game against Arsenal, grabbed a pint before the game and drove home straight after game

How do they keep you running? Do they chase you with big sticks? <whistle>
