Well, what an absolutely fantastic week of excitement. The purchase of practically a whole new first team, bristling with quality, has left me feeling like I,ve been at one last huge summer rave these past weeks, now the dust is settling and I have to get the house in order before the seriousness of work begins. This is a huge job now MH has to link the players together, to get them on the same mental wavelength and have them playing as one unit but more importantly, formulate a first eleven that can compete with the best in the PL on a regular basis because lets face it, expectations are surely high now. It WILL take a few matches to marinate the team and develop a certain style of play, hopefully a style which is entertaining and points productive. Still though, I would happily settle for a mid table position, with some big scalps taken on route come the end of the season but if I,m honest, I am secretly expecting a top eight place. Surely a bright future at the QPR...... To be continued......
The pressure is really on MH. He clearly takes a while to gel a side so I'm hoping things are a little bit different this time because the players we have are technically better than before. I'm excited but nervous at the same time. Just hope Cesar and Mbia form the rock in our defence and Granero the lynchpin in our attack.
Going into the next half dozen matches with interest and medium to low expectation now. Excited to see the new signings in action but realistic that it takes time to pull it all together. MH has broken a few eggs to get the mix he wanted, and probably upset a few, but shows he is focused. Everybody has praised TF (and he deserves it) but this has been a complete team effort. Well done. Onwards and forwards now.
