If ever they needed us now is the time Whether pro-Hughton or not, It matters not how or why we´re in the grime But how we can help stop the rot And a rousing chorus of OTBC To get the place rocking, would do, At three minute intervals regularly To help beat the claret and blue As much as the fans need the players on song So players need vocal support, And even more so if things start to go wrong Where moaning just kills the rapport Amazing it is what the twelfth man can do Those twenty-six thousand or so, If they raise the roof till it loosens the screws By god, the difference really shows ´When the going gets tough the tough get going´ I´m sure that´s somewhere on a wall, To be seen by everyone to-ing and fro-ing Whether training or on a match call And we know our players give every last drop Never giving up a lost cause, Roared on by a vociferous Carrow Kop We´ll keep out of Championship jaws Whatever they may lack in skill or finesse That makes up only a small part, They are overflowing and match with the best In work ethic, fight and in heart And rightly or wrongly Hughton´s taken flak From some clientele for his style, But nothing we´ve heard suggests the team don´t back Him to the hilt, and every mile So whether you love him or hate him to bits Is not the point this Saturday, It won´t be down to if his face fits Whether or not we get to stay. OTBC & IHIT
Well said RBF, I don't like to critcize our regulars, but one or two are going way over the top in their criticism of CH! I'd love to know who they think would do better who would actually come here!
Those sort of feelings have to be chucked out of the window this weekend dave, otherwise they´ll just be shooting us in the foot.
Hi RBF bor, nice to see you in fine form, this coming Saturday will I feel be our make or break time. Can CH get the team fired up for this encounter? The incentive is there but so it is also for PL. Understandably he will not be out to do us any favours, wouldn't expect anything otherwise. He also needs the points to ensure his team continues membership of the PL. Hope that just for once we have a referee who gives fair judgment on the day, whether for or against us. Last week in my opinion, Stoke were lucky to finish with eleven players. But then that is football!!! How is the "King" ?
Fine thanks NORKIE, still learning the ropes, but successfully coming to the end of the first year of his reign - a lot like Mr. Hughton in fact.
RFB, really sorry, but I'm fed up seeing these threads telling us the regular fans to get behind their team. Just what the hell do you think we do week in week out! It's not the fans you should be telling it's the Manager, he needs to get behind us, give us something to shout about!! On a previous thread I've said the same sort of things, I was at Wigan, the fans were excellent, the team WERE NOT! I was at Stoke, the fans were excellent, the team WERE NOT! We are scrapping for our survival in this division and we don't get ONE shot on target, that is appalling. There's been many many games this season when the team was not up to the supporters, you cannot accuse us of not being there singing our souls out, while the team does NOT respond. I will always be a supporter of my club, I always have been, it cost me something around £4000 a year to watch home games alone, that's season tickets for 6 plus 2 casuals when I can get them, add onto that nearly all away games and the cost gets damn well scary. So with the greatest respect to you and I mean that, please don't preach at me about supporting my club, myself and my family are 8 of 26000 who shout, sing, applaud and turn out in all weathers. WE DO GET BEHIND THEM!!
This wasn´t aimed at you personally ILD, or anyone else on here, but if you feel aggrieved perhaps you should direct your anger at McNally, who has been asking for exactly the same kind of support in the EDP. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic..._finishing_line_against_aston_villa_1_2175137 The point I was trying to make was that we should all put our differences, as regards the merits of CH, aside, until we´re over the finishing line, that´s all.
Oh please Royal. Well, there are plenty I would rather have Martinez Poyet MAckay Di Matteo Zola Adkins Martin O'Neill Steve Bruce Dougie Freedman And some of those I wouldn't even want here, but I'd still rather have them than Hooftun. He's a nasty manager made from the same stone as Pullis and Allardyce. Just a horrible, negative, craft less piece of work. I find it ironic that the posters who are traditionally most positive are supporting the someone with such an intrinsic negative manner.
Well I´m certainly not going to start apologising for being positive, carrabuh, nor will I admit to him being inept, just because you and a few others keep on telling me so, and as for it being ironic that the positive ones amongst us, are still backing him, I don´t see any irony there at all. Speaking for myself, it´s precisely because I´m positive that I believe him to have another string to his bow which we´ve not seen anything of yet, and unlike some, I´m perfectly prepared to give him a chance to prove it. I seem to remember when Newcastle were promoted from the Championship with Hughton at the helm, they did it with a record number of points, and with a record margin down to number two, which hardly ties in with your view of him being negatively minded. So, as on several other occasions, we´re going to have to agree to disagree on this one, and you can rest assured, if what you call a ´nasty manager´ continues to be what you call a ´craftless piece of work´ again next season, I shall be the first to acknowledge the fact. I wonder if you´ll do the same, if we see a completely different side to him.
If I thought he would change next season then I would be OK with that. But, by looking at the evidence of this season and the rubbish that he talks, I don't think he will. The Newcastle success was with a bunch of Premiership players in a lesser league and the long ball outlet that is Andy Carroll. If he changes his stance next season then I'll go back to supporting him. I honestly do not think he will though, we might become better at what he wants, but essentially the philosophy will remain the same. I can't fault the players he's brought in and I'd probably trust him to make good signings, I just don't trust what he'll do with them.
I will leave my take on the manager till the end of the season I think now. I've said my bit and I think it's becoming a bit of a broken record. Fact remains he will see the season out, summer is when we should really start questioning his position here. I agree with ILD, fans have been as good as usual this season, perhaps better because it has been a season which had split the fans due to the man at helm and the style of football. Also Dave, join in on the debate instead of making indirect criticisms of posters, we should be thankful that debate is lively at the minute and there hasn't been any mudslinging in a while. (From what I've seen)
RBF, I know it wasn't aimed at me personally, I wouldn't expect that from you, but there is a lot of these threads saying the same thing, and I'm beginning to wonder if people realise that the ground is full of supporters for every game, that's 26000 plus, if that's not supporting and getting behind the team then I don't know what more we can do, or what Mr McNally expects from us! All I'm asking for personally is a performance worthy of the supporters!! I will take your advice on board and write to McNally explaining why us fans are so disillusioned and fed up being told to get behind the team!!
I´m very glad to hear it ILD, and I never doubted you would, I´d also be glad to hear what he says in reply.
We shall see carrabuh, we shall see, but if he does as ordered and keeps us up, as much as you´d like him to go, I just cannot see McNally waving goodbye to him. Incidentally there´s only a couple on your list that I´d feel even remotely secure with, and they are Di Matteo and Martinez, although Martinez is so much a David Whelan´s man, that we´d probably have to have him too .
ILD, if he responds, would you be agreeable to posting it on here? I think it's something of interest to us all!
Bloody hell Dave, you know he'll sue at the drop of a hat!!! Unless there's anything contentious Yes no problem.
From me to Mr McNally! I see you have once again asked for the fans of NCFC to “get behind” their team on Saturday and help lift the team over the finishing line against Aston Villa! Personally I’m finding these plea’s a bit annoying, I am one of the “faithful” one of 26000 odd fans that turn out week after week, I cheer and sing and applaud with the rest, I have always supported my team and always will, but isn’t it time the team supported the fans? We have had to endure some pretty dire performances this season especially away from home. If you go to the away games you will know that we are magnificent in our support! Even when the team fails to get a shot on target in the last two games, we still return for the next game and support them. So I’m not sure what else you want us to do? What most of us want is for the team to fight and scrap for goals and wins, we only have 3 more games to save ourselves from the drop but seem to be relying on Wigan to help us out, surely it’s up to us to secure our own future. Could you through the supporters ask Chris Hughton to at least have a go at Villa, you will then see the reaction you’re looking for in abundance. If we are condemned to the Championship again then for god’s sake, this time lets go down fighting! Regards Reply. Thank you for your email with regard to the campaign to encourage our fans to ‘get behind’ the team during the final stages of the season. I do appreciate that NCFC fans are amongst the most passionate in the Premier League but at this critical point everyone at NCFC is doing anything we can to help the first team. The value of this approach was borne out by the incredible support at the Reading match, which I know had a real impact on the players. Thank you for your ongoing support. Kind regards David
standard un-emotional response ILD in fact he doesn't answer the question about the team giving something back
