Now is the time for the true "Jack Army " , home and away , to celebrate how far we've come and to show unconditional support toward the players and manager as they prepare to dig us out of the mess they didn't really create . And to have a man who has expierenced it all , for over 40 years possibility at the controls in Curtis , is almost appropriate . We're not nearly done in " The Premier " , let's show we are confident in the players and manager.....trust me , it will go a long way till May .
We must not be swayed by managerial or player rumours and everyone fans and players alike must give 100% at the grounds until the end of the season. We are all in it together.
This is the last chance saloon while this short window is open to sort things out and i don't see anything to give me any confidence that the club are doing anything. Most of the bottom sides are strengthening for the run in while we are talking about keeping curtis till the end of the season and no sign of a striker or two......Bloody right its time to panic....
Most bottom clubs are buying players , whether they're strengthening is another story . The season Derby went down they brought in 6 or 7 players in the January window ........and never won a game for the rest of the season . We're strengthening as we speak , with the same players imo
All we are doing is bringing youngsters back off loan. i dont see that as strengthening, i see that as losing the plot and putting the club in definite peril ....
Whether it's time to panic or not, panicking gives you less chance of survival. The more people involved in the club that keep their cool, the better chance we have. When a ship is sinking, if everyone goes doolally then it's over. Staying calm might not guarantee survival, but it sure as hell gives you a better opportunity. Everyone has to pull in the same direction and sing from the same hymn sheet - whether they agree 100%, 99%, 50% or 1% with what's going on, because division will only make us weaker. So disagree if you want, I certainly will at times, but I'll back the boys, coaches and directors each and every second that Swansea take to the pitch no matter what my opinion on anything going on at the club. Unless things are utterly atrocious, then it's not really an option for the fans to verbalise things in public (of course, a forum like this is kind of an exception, much like a conversation at a pub) - when Petty was here destroying things, that was the right time to protest and rise against - we have a talented squad, we've stopped the rot and have played decent football and robust football under Curtis so far. We have to back Curtis and if the board do back Curtis to the season's end, then I will back that decision 100%, even if deep down I disagree. Under Curtis we've utilised our squad so much better than under Monk - we really are strengthening from within in a sense that players that had been cast aside under Monk (Britton, Routledge, Amat, Rangel, Grimes, Barrow) are now back and playing well - it's like having 6 or 7 new players.
There is probably not a swans fan out there who wont give Curtis and the team 100% backing when they take to the field and we will need to make sure it is vocal and I heard that at our last home game. It doesn't mean we all have to agree with the way the board are doing things at the moment. I believe we should have an experienced new manager in by now, we haven't and so I will continue to back Curtis even though I think the board are wrong and am really nervous inside.
What benefits do we give by pulling together on here ? We don't have an ounce of influence that would help the club more that the support we give the team home and away now........It is the chairman and the board that need to face up to reality and make some changes to make us an attractive proposition to managers and players. what we say holds no influence whatsoever as we cant change things.......All we can do is air our views on different forums in the hope that members of the board can see what we think and the concerns we have.....
Like I've said , we should have had a new manager after the Norwich game , and I don't mean Curtis . I'd even take Rodgers soon as he picks up his bonus cheque from Liverpool today. But if it ain't Rodgers in the next few days , I don't want to take a chance on anyone else given the time frame . At least Rodgers has some idea about the club's going ons If not , my vote is with Cutis and Adams the rest of the way . An announcement will come in the next 48 hours ...one way or the other . And dai , it's the home fans and the travelling fans that could play a big part on how the team preform s, we already have great loyal fans that go to games , but a little extra support in their voice could go a long way to settling both coaches and players .
Being near the bottom and no manager will not be very marketable to good players. That is why I feel like panicking!
Lol...well don't panic to much , looks like we're putting in an offer for Charlie Austin ....would be a nice hit .
I think the boos and poor performances from the Bouremouth and Leicester games had a lasting effect for Curtis's first two games in charge at home . Although coming off a good away performance at Man City , and playing well during during the West Ham game at home , the crowd seemed to be very quiet . When we scored against West Brom , you could feel the tension amongst the team how important the 3 points were and we played less than good the rest of the way in front of the home crowd , the only time since Curtis took over .But we managed the 3 points with a bit of luck but I truly think the anxiousness to please a less than happy home crowd , fresh on the teams mind , was part of the problem and not part of the solution , like home crowds are suppose to be. We went back on the road and had 2 very good away performances against Palace and Man U. The team needs to feel the crowds good wishes and support now that they are returning home for two very important home games with the understanding that they have put the poor home performances under Monk behind them and this is a new team with the same players . Home support for these games needs to be loud and proud with no past memories .
I'm afraid whilst we're in this position the home crowd will be anxious , a one nil lead was never enough but by hook and by crook we hung onto it but it didn't make for an enjoyable experience , away from home it's easier as a supporter and as a player due to the "lack" of expectancy of a result .Probably a lot of old bollocks but that's my imo.
Away fans are easier to please and are supportive by nature and a lot more forgiving , players pick up on that .
The crowd needs to be right behind the team from the first whistle to the last - but, as Matt says, due to our position, the crowd will be anxious.......
