All you Stokies will be watching MOTD me???????????????

You may not believe this but, it's utterly P""""ing down here and I MEAN torrential non stop rain since around half six...
OK it's HOT but I have NEVER EVER seen rain like this in my life before. NO wonder they can grow feckin Bananas by the zillions hehe.

Back on topic, NO TV and I mean zero picture apart from 30 sec's when Dion Dublin and the one and only Mr I'll be fit one day Owen we''re introduced by Gary Lineker.. OH **** I will just sit here reading the numerous comments on todays game/result.

Just a thought for you fellow Stoke fans is this... I read the BBC site earlier on tinternet. Yep, that is still working just about.
And what the hell was Martin Jol saying i.e. " Stoke are a rugby team" and " I won't talk about the ref" + " I don't want to make excuses"

I have massive respect for both Fulham FC their fans and Martin Jol but surly??? He's gone way OTT or has he?

For those of you who saw the game live today I would love to know if you think Mr Jol is having a laugh or being serious.
And NO there isn't an Iplayer to use on this bloody computer so I'll wait see what you guys think. Pulis did say " They, Fulham only really came into the game the last ten mins? WHOM is right here.

And if any of you could describe Charlie Adams goal cos I won't bloody get to see it. Thanks in advance.

    Ya mate Pott's

  4. Now Potts calm down.

Yesterday we dominated the game to a greater extent until the 70th Minute. Jol brought on Duff and the whole game changed. We were forced back for the last 20 minutes and were hanging on. Saying that they had one effort from Berbatov saved by Begovic. Did they deserve a point? No I do not think so.

With regard to Jol. I think he comes from Holland. What does he know about rugby? At least Whinger and the French know how to play rugby! There were a couple of incidents not shown on MOTD where a Fulahm player went down. But so many of them did we were not sure if they were just trying to break up play to get themselves organised again or genuinely hurt. I thought Senderos got a blood injury in the first half and Sidwell took a whack. Charlie Adam had a go at Guardinos in retaliation for getting nothing when he was thumped in the back!

I really thought that for the first 25 minutes in the second half Stoke looked likely to add to the first half goal. In the last 20 minutes Fulham were to a great extent parked in the Stoke half but did not force Begovic into any first class saves.

Jol's other words included 'bullying.' Owen siad that was not true and answered saying we were physical. I think we bossed the first 70 minutes and for me was probably our best performance at home this season!

    Only my opinion!

    Cheers Cris,
Great report on the game as usual.
AND it has stopped raining here now, just an utter downpour until about 2am this morning. Sunny and warm now back to normal, for here at least. (sorry could'nt help myself) Cris. And, i was on the beer last night too!
Sandors link was pretty clear and without that I would have missed Adam's goal.

K T F one and all, I'm back home this Saturday night by the way!

  6. One other thing was that Berbatov threw his arms up and clattered Crouchie in the throat right in front of me in the first half. Crouch went down but got up more or less straightaway. Discussions between ref Shawcross and Berbatov (acting captain). Fulham player tackled rolls and rolls in agony. Foreign players trait me thinks! I think Jol miised this!

Potts, regarding the rain. I was there(Funchal) about 3 weeks ago. It was one of the ports of call on the cruise. I thought it would be nice to go on an organised bike ride. I`d been on one on a previous holiday in Montenegro and had really enjoyed it, you know just slowly riding along flat roads in the sunshine, stopping for a swim at a beach bar, then a couple of pints of cold lager( @ £1,50p/pint!!) they aren`t in the euro yet! you get the picture. We started this bike ride in Funchal and after about 10mins. it started to drizzle with rain. You know the terrain in Madeira, it was like being on the Tour de France mountain section!!! after about 20 mins the rain just got heavier and heavier . It was like rain I`ve never seen before. The locals were all standing outside their shops just watching us MAD f---ers trying to pedal these bikes up hills ( like about1 in 3!!) in the monsoon.I only had a thin short-sleeved shirt and shorts on(as you do on holiday)and was frozen!! You know the state of the roads, they`re full of ruts and potholes, and trying to avoid these on the downhill bits with a fu--ing stream of tour buses up your a-se,believe me,is not good fun,and for the privelage of all this it cost me £34 and my watch, which I`ve had for over45years stopped working and I`ve just been told by the jewellers will cost £80 pounds to repair!! Never again ,my biking days are over. Hope your having a great time Potts.<grin>

It's a fabulous place and the weather apart from yesterday has been brilliant. We've heard about THAT rain and it caused landslides it was so bad Joe. Seen the damage and it's horrilbe on the North Side St Vincete.

And, yep the roads are bloody steep, first gear is about the only gear will get you up to where we are staying lol.
We are over a mile high, that's bloody high Joe believe me. Hence it did rain well (P++S down) for eight hours last night but this morning you would never know.

And yep brilliant time Joe thanks <ok>

Glad the link worked for you Potts, had edited the post with a description on the goal I case it didn't, put for whatever reason it didn't save. Another solid performance, but there's an increasing worrying theme of playing well and only managing one goal. Should have been at least 2 up in the first half against West Ham, and should really have got a couple more against Fulham. We deserved the win, but we really need to score more. I'm not fussed about our inevitable negative last 15 minutes, if we ever happen to be 2+ up, but not at 1-0, and were playing well enough and creating the chances to be getting more goals, just not quite clinical enough finishing.

Me thinks maybe the answer to us converting more of these chances is easy. Mr Owen, when fit along with Adam,N'zonzi etc we might just improve our goal difference. But, I remember Liverpool going almost a full season winning and only just winning by the odd goal. eg 1 zip, they we're the masters at doing that during the 70s.

Either way, a win is a win guys. IF we won every home game scoring just once, I would not complain.

Thanks again for that link Sandor.

I'm not complaining about only winning by the one goal, it's trying to hold on to a 1-0 in the last 15/20 minutes. We always end up dropping back, Adam gets further away from Crouch, so when we do get the ball back it's harder to do anything with. I think your right about Owen if he does get playing, says he's back in full training now. Hopefully we'll see him come on against Newcastle.
