A win at OT, and now a draw against them at the Lane. When was the last time we took 4 points off United? Before this season, we never looked like a team that believed it could beat United, but there has been a massive turn around. That, more than anything else, has finally convinced me that AVB is, for us, more the Porto man and less the Chav man. He switch to, and has persevered with a 4-4-2 formation, and that encourage me to look less upon him as a clown, and since that time, he has gone from strength to strength, and has continued to rise in my estimation. We really need at least a point today, with Arsenal stumbling against Chelsea, and AVB got the boys to deliver. In former times, we would have capitulated, and that would have signaled the end of our hopes of top 4. But with today's point, we have shown our intent. United will probably win the league, and to go the seasons unbeaten by the divisions champions in waiting is as good as any of us could have expected. Onwards and upwards, boys! Let this be the catalyst for a strong finish to the season, and to securing our place in next season's CL. COYS!
I'm sure THFC6061 will be able to tell you exactly, but it's never happened in the Premier League before today.
Well Norwich and Everton are the only other teams to beat them so far. I wonder if any other teams will take 4+ points from them this season. ------------------- All I hope now is that Levy finally believes in AVB and gives him the players we need to push on (as I posted in the transfer thread)
AVB Definite improvement in the last few months. Always supported him, but his constant defensiveness was beginning to wear me down. If he keeps it up, I can see him lasting a fair while here.
Lack-lustre home performance due to team selection by AVB (average bastard) If you are to stand any chance of CL football the tea-boy must pick the right starting eleven.
Levy has to believe in AVB and support him not hinder. Another window of cheap buys will once again leave us short again.
sad twat....anyone connected to chelsea cant be taken seriously on anything to do with a manager so kindly **** off...im sure youll understand and respect the way i address you..bellend.
Vertonghen ill Sandro, Kaboul and Gallas injured Adebayor at the ACoN A bit hard to pick the best starting xi when a chunk of it is unavailable...
Of course it could. But still, what they are saying is that it's 23 years since Utd failed to beat us.
Don't mind Ozzie, guys. He comes across as a bit of a blunt tool, but he loves us. He and I often share a bit of banter, over on the Chav board. To an outsider, it might look like Ozzie is a bit hard on me, but we both know that it's just a couple of really good mates having a laugh.
23 years is when Spurs got the double over Utd. Incidentally, also last time Spurs beat Utd away before the 3-2 in September.
This result will hopefully give the team a bit of belief. I can't remember the last time we grabbed a late late goal to earn points, more often than not it happens against us. We're desperate for another striker though, ideally a top one, but if the stellar names are out of reach then someone like Danny Graham would do a job and offer something different. Even the likes of Saha and Gudjohnsen made useful contributions on short term deals.
Yes,I am now warming to AVB after doubts at first. But what were we basing those doubts on? A stint at Chelsea where he wasn't really given a chance. To take Spurs on after an experience which must have rocked his confidence AVB stands for Actually Very Brave. It's obvious now that he has a lot to offer the PL which Chelsea were too thick to see. Much like their supporters.
