According to his interview in the Journal this morning and I quote...

"Everyone gets a bit carried away, dont they, thinking we are going to win leagues with eight or nine new players, but it aint going to happen"

What the **** are you talking about Phil? Who in the club has put you up to spout this bull **** or do you really think it?

When did any SAFC fan think we were going to win the league this season? Not one single fan said as much but we did think we would be out of the relegation shake up after 12 games with the likes of Vaughan and Gardener brought in, a decent striker to replace Bent and a left winger. Well Vaughan and Gardener are severely underused or not at all in Gardeners situation and we didnt buy a striker to replace Bent OR a left winger and struggle to score goals.

Give your friggin heed a shake Phil and cut out the club led bull ****. We didnt expect to win any leaguie but we did expect to win more than 2 games at home out of the last 14. Have a little think about things before you open yous mush in future pal.

Oh and before you have a go at the fans, we didnt get ****ing banned for 4 games this season either did we which didnt help matters?

Commachio - do you get the feeling that players are being used to send out a message to save the managers neck? Turner was in the Saturday paper telling us all our league position was a false one and things will take off pretty soon and now Bardsley (a crowd favourite) is trotted out to serve this bollocks up.

Bruce is in the same paper today spouting the usual post match drivel of what if's and maybes (the same ****e he has been spouting since February) and blaming the loss of Campbell, Welbeck and Bent (one we lost to injury 14 months ago, one was never going to sign permanently as SAF told us all many times and the other left in January) as reasons we are complete dog **** THIS season.

Does this bloke think we are flamin' simple minded twats like him?

You wait, it will be the loss of SKP and Marco Gabiadinni that will have cost us dearly this season before long.

“Last year we had a bundle of natural goalscorers in the side, but that’s gone now, and we’re finding that we’re playing well but not scoring as much as we should do.

“At one point we had Danny Welbeck, Darren Bent, Asamoah Gyan and Fraizer Campbell to choose from, but we simply don’t have that sort of firepower to call on any more.”

And Steve Bruce carried on the conversation.

Well Steve I wonder why we've got no strikers, oh yes, you wanted to sign them for 3-4 years down the line, cheers.

    If I may reply too...

These comments and media statements are an admission of concern... It's clear that people are concerned and thus feel the need to go public in order to passify enquiring minds.

This proves that Bruce is aware his time is up if we fail to beat Wigan. If we beat Wigan (and I hope we do beat Wigan) the task of being the manager of Sunderland will have only just begun for Steve Bruce.

He is obviously exaggerating a bit isn't he. Along the lines of 'I caught a 12lb fish, when really it was a tiddler.

adz - Campbell hasnt been a 1st team starter for almost 14 months; Welbeck was NEVER going to be allowed to sign as SAF said many times and Bent left in January (10 months ago).

Just what they have to do with us being so ****e again this year is beyond me. Bruce blew the coffers on Connor and Ji. He cant then complain that he has no strikers ready to play today can he? If someone had sold Bent from under him and then said here are the replacements then he could have room to grumble but thats not the case.

This is Bruces team now. His players and his tactics. His utter failure.

I wouldn't read too much into Bardsley's quote, it's the usual bollocks professional footballers come out with "I'm sorry to hear the manager getting all this flack, he doesn't deserve it, it's us who are on the pitch and we've been letting him down", etc., etc., and when the manager gets the sack he's forgotten about after five minutes and the players simply move on to working with the new manager.

As for SB saying we lost B€nt, Gyan, Campbell and Welbeck - well who the **** let them go and didn't replace them?!!!

    Still at it..

STEVE Bruce admits that Saturday’s draw against Fulham ups the ante and increases the pressure for the visit of Wigan this weekend.

But he takes encouragement from the belief that his team is slowly but surely going in the right direction.

“We are frustrated because a lot of aspects of our game we could be pleased with,” he said of the 0-0 draw against Martin Jol’s Cottagers.

“People might remember the last 15 minutes when we were all over the place, which was ridiculous, as we chased the game and left ourselves exposed.

“But, for large parts of it, I was very pleased. Overall, we played some very good stuff.

“Pressure is always here at Sunderland and it’s always going to be here.

“The size of the crowd we had at the weekend was terrific and big crowds rightly bring big expectations which naturally means bigger pressure on players.

“So we know we’ve got a very big game against Wigan now.

“But gradually we’re getting a settled look about us.

Is it just me or were we told that we ought to lower our expectations a few weeks ago?

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing anymore.

I took my old man (77 years old) as a 'treat' and he told me after the game, if I ever did it again he would take me out of his will. He couldn't believe it when I said it had been worse than that at times under Bruce recently. He wouldnt come back again if the ticket was free, lift to the door and back was included and as much food and drink as he could eat for nowt - oh and with a 20 quid note tucked in his back pocket for good measure. He has never looked as bored in his life to me. I felt totally guilty for dragging the poor bloke out of a nice warm house, just to watch that utter ****e. That Bruce thinks its pretty good really only pisses me off more than I was at 5pm Saturday.

I cant imagine any of those poor bloody unfortunate kids that went on the cheap school tickets will ever want to go back either. One of them fell asleep behind us and lots more were in tears at the end of the game.

Bruce couldnt attract flies if he was a bucket of ****.

These players have now been playing along side each other for some 5 months and probably 20 games (not including training sessions during the week).

Just how long do you actually need to learn how to play football as a 4m or 5m player? Gardener was a fully fledged member of the Football fraternity before he came to us this summer. He is a mature man and has some 200+ pro games behind him. He is ****ing English not Korean or Chinese and needs no settling in period. He has only moved from friggin Birmingham not Seoul or Shanghai FFS.

Vaughan, Westwood, Gardener and Wickham are all British born and bred and yet 12 games in and 4 months down the line they have played less than 12 games between them and these were the very same players brought in to 'turn us round' in the summer. We spent over 13m on these players and they dont start games. Its ridiculous.

If we were playing free flowing attacking and winning football I'd understand but we are completely hapless and they still have struggled for games.

Maybe he took the National Express...about the same time from Brum to Sunderland as Sport Direct Arena city to Who Flung Dung Town...

Shoudn't laugh, but i find this whole scenario of settling in and gelling (sounds like a david ginola promotion of the latest gay hairstyles in Sr Tropez) a bit to much....
