I was very disappointed that having chosen quite rightly to invite the Mayor and the British Legion to launch the Poppy Appeal last Saturday, the whole thing took place with a back-drop of players hoofing balls about and running in front of and behind the old fellas as they stood in the centre circle. I did not even realise there was a minute's silence until I read about it on the websiteâ¦I certainly heard no announcement and no-one around me or in the ground seemed to observe it! A bit of seat of your pants planning there I feel. It should have taken place either when the players went off or before the kick-off. It must be my ageâ¦
