So after doing a post about Player of Month for August / September and October so far I've decided open a proper poll to see what everyone thinks for November. My three options which people may (or may not agree with) are: Rhoys Wiggins: Has grown from strength to strength as each month had passed growing more and more confident each game. Managed to chip in with a few assists. Bradley Wright-Phillips: His goals have made him the leading scorer in England and has sent us 7 points clear. Michael Morrison: After Brentford and Huddersfield is one of the true reasons we've only conceded 14 in the league this season. -------------------------------- Second half of my Thread covers a Review of December and what I expect could happen between now and New Years Day. Carlisle United (FA Cup): Another chance for the Reserves to get some game time including the likes of Pritchard and Evina, I pretty much expect the same team as the one which faced Halifax - Verdict: 3-1 Walsall (Away): Could turn out to be a tricky tie, one of the last lower League teams we've got to face and we've had mixed results over the last few years meaning victory may not be a straight guarantee - Verdict: 2-0 Oldham Athletic (Home): Like Tranmere this is one fixture I always dread and is our other boggie team, I expect Oldham to score and sit back so wouldnt be surprised if this one finished level - Verdict: 1-1 Yeovil Town (Boxing Day - Away): We seem to have a pretty good record on Boxing Day, lets hope this fixture goes ahead unlike the Southampton one last year and without wind or horrible rain as we're uncovered - I expect an assured win against the League One strugglers - Verdict: 4-0 Leyton Orient (New Years Eve - Away): Again not a bad record against Orient but I expect another stern test for the Television Cameras one which I think we'll again just edge - Verdict: 3-1 -------------------------------------- As with all games so far this Season we just need to take each game as it comes yet going into the New Year I think Charlton fully deserve to be level at the half-way stage. Should be an interesting month especially as I can see Chris Powell being given Manager of the Month this season, after all who can they give it to when we beat one set of rivals 5-2 and end the unbeaten record of another....
If we play the same team as against Halifax and to the same standard, we will lose. Carlisle are no mugs even though we caught them cold five weeks ago.
Went BWP for Player of the Month... and League One Player of the Month for that matter... he just scares the opposition ragged now, he has an aura about him that the opposing fans are just waiting for him to pop up... and his positioning got us the most unlikely 3 points of the month away at Brentford. 2 changes from Eastbourne's team for me... I'd play Cort, this is the kind of game we can use to build up his partnership. Also I wouldn't start Smith... if Kermorgant is fit I'd play him and Hayes... if not I'd play BWP... I see this as an important game to keep the momentum going and give us a chance to play against someone in Round 3 who can really test us. If we had a midweek game I'd rest him but our schedule seems pretty light at the moment.
I'm with TVR on this. Wouldn't play the "reserves". 2 reasons - big Mo and the chance of some big cash in R3. I also fear the Oldham game and although we will be heavy favs, agree with A4L - they will be tough and physical and will be a very difficult game. Otherwise expect good results (min 7 points) from the other Dec fixtures. POTM - has to be BWP
I went for Wiggins, but only just. I wont claim to be th biggest expert on league 1, but if there's a better left back in this division on current form then congrats to his employers. Then again, after last night I wouldn't swap a single one from that back four... yep, whilst some might have sobered up, I'm happily continuing to get carried away.
Wiggins gets the nod from me again., just. He and morro have been on par, but I love the fact that wiggins has come through that difficult start and the groans from the crowd. Over the years we've seen many players not recover from bad starts, and the crowd getting on their backs. He isn't one.
I'm going Kermit, he has allowed 'better than Shaun' to play by always being a problem for centre backs to handle.
