Last November saints picked up 4 points from their 4 games they played. Will this November be any better. By December will we still be a top 4 club. Here after the all important games Hull v Saints Saints v Leicester Aston Villa v Saints Saints v Man city Chelsea v QPR Liverpool v Chelsea Chelsea v west brom Sunderland v Chelsea Man city v Man utd QPR v Man city Man city v Swansea Saints v Man city Stoke v west ham West ham v Aston Villa Everton v west ham West ham v Newcastle Interested to hear how many points you think we could pick up, position, stars, goal conceded etc
8 I think. Hull = Draw 1-1 Leicester= Win 2-0 Villa = Win 3-1 City = Draw 2-2 So 8 goals and 4 against. +4 GD
Same as Beefy, but I'd change Hull to a win as we're their bogey team and change Villa to a draw. We'll be top 4 by the end of November. December? Not so sure.
The big difference between this time last year and now is that we are much better equipped to withstand injuries. No longer will we have to face the prospect of Gazza, Jos and Fox lining up at the back for us at the same time. We now have International quality back up throughout the team and anyone in the squad can be brought in to do a job seamlessly. We will have a dip in form at some point, but that goes for any team in the league, who saw Wet Spam beating Citeh today? and if they can beat them, then why can't we? I certainly think that we are substantially better than Villa and Leicester and should get a result at Hull so I would say that 7pts would be a reasonable return with a chance of more.
Hull have had 2 great draws away to arsenal and Liverpool, Leicester and villa are both on a bit of a poor run and city are not as strong away as they are at home. Two televised games in the month too. We could go unbeaten and its nice to have a gap between us and spurs, Everton and Liverpool
I'm a bit worried about when Mane goes off to the ACON because he's one of out biggest threats and the only player with genuine pace. Although saying that, Rodriguez should be back around the time - we'll have to wait a bit longer until we have our strongest side out.
Long is indeed quite quick. Not lightning quick. But he will run for 90 minutes. Slightly surprised he didn't start today because he would have taken the bashing that was being handed out to Mane. However, Mane scored, so what do I know..?
When is J Rod back? If J Rod's return intersects with Mane's ACON duties we might not miss him as much as you think.
12 points will do me. If we're going to win this league, all we need to do is win every single game left. Easy
There is also a transfer window before ACON. We may bring someone in if Jay isn't fully fit (even a loan ) I would hope we would definitely bring someone in if Jay leaves in January (that is a big if given his injury) Also hull will be tricky but their draws against arsenal and Liverpool are not as good as they appear on paper. Liverpool have a very poor attack and shambolic defence and hull did not score (not conceding with a back 5 not a massive surprise) Arsenal have not been in top form and had a really weak defence due to injury and suspension (hence scoring 2) Main thing about hull is it is an awkward place to travel to
JRod will take a while to get match fit and up to speed with Saints who include players he is unfamiliar with. I see him as cover from the bench...hope we don't have to rely on him initially. Hull draw Leicester win Villa win Man City loss Therefore, 7 points, though possibly 9. We may beat City of course...I think we will beat some of the 'top' sides this season, unlike last year. We mustn't forget that our run out at the end of the season isn't bad and everyone plays everyone twice whatever order it is in. The thing I was afraid of (and can laugh about now) is that I thought we might lose 'winnable' games because we were still gelling and then meet the big clubs with insufficient points on the board,
