Masky’s Old Pal Chris Gunter, (rhymes with cuunter) has been on, wishes me compliments of the season....checking if the tangerines have been reduced in Lidl’s. I had to break the bad news that they hadn’t because at this time of year it’s a sellers market...he was gutted! Now as regards the game this weekend....he says they’re all talking about Gary Madine....aka goal machine. It didn’t go unnoticed that he had an assist and a fabulous effort miraculously saved on Tuesday....and was given a standing ovation when pulled off! Even critics like Old Sparkey and BFB, he read couldn’t hold back with their praise. Calling him lard is now a thing of the past, and there is no doubt a goal or two is just around the corner....as sure as I’ve got a 9” todger with s hook on it! Bluebirds up against an inform Forest with Ameobi on fire....hmmmm, 1-0 City!
Still games 24 goals none. Agreed he played better but still uninspiring. Will he start against Tricky Trees or will Glatzel or Ward play leapfrog over him? I think he will start as he hasn't let Harris down yet. Ward on bench. Yes, Ameobi looks to be playing well, set up 2 goals last night. Probably thinks he has something to prove against us. Masky do you use your aforementioned bent todge for checking around corners? I spy with my Jap's eye!!!
Never said my todger was bent, said hook!, Before you ask about the hook thing.....hook for carrying the three tankards of IPA!
Peltier to smash Ameobi off the park. I know we're away but Tomlin has got to start. He can win the game for us rather than just trying to keep the point we start with. Hope Harris has learned the lesson from the second half of that Charlton game - you just can't contain these sorts of sides if you surrender the midfield.
35 minutes ago Jay wrote FACT! It’s been an interesting 35 mins for Masky, wondering what the Fug it’s all about!
Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has said Brice Samba is available for selection against Cardiff despite the goalkeeper appearing to struggle with a shoulder injury against QPR in midweek. Ryan Yates remains suspended and Forest are also likely to be without the recovering Yuri Ribeiro and Samba Sow, Cardiff will check on the fitness of Callum Paterson after a knock saw him start on the bench against Stoke. Robert Glatzel is also nearing a return after four games out. Peter Whittingham could return for the Bluebirds against his former club Forest, with whom he endured a brief spell. Match facts Nottingham Forest have won only once in their past 12 league games against Cardiff City (W1 D1 L10), failing to win any of the last nine (D1 L8). Cardiff City have won each of their last four away league games versus Nottingham Forest - they have never won five consecutive away games against an opponent in the EFL. Nottingham Forest have kept three consecutive clean sheets (W2 D1), last going longer without conceding in the Championship in February 2016 (a run of four). Cardiff have failed to win any of their opening nine away league games in back-to-back seasons. However, their first away victory last season came in their 10th such game, beating Leicester City 1-0 at the King Power. Since the start of last season, only four players have scored more Championship goals than Nottingham Forrest's Lewis Grabban (24). Cardiff's Robert Glatzel has committed 23 fouls in the Championship this season without receiving a single booking - only Middlesbrough's Britt Assombalonga (33) has conceded more fouls in the competition in 2019-20 without receiving a card.
Like the fact about waiting 10 games for our first away win last season but cannot seeing it happening today.
Ground out win a la Warnock - but who cares when you've won? Another 3 points on the back of the 3 we got from a poor game in footballing terms against Stoke on Tuesday has got the adrenalin going again. Up to 10th and those just in front are catchable. Next weekend's fixtures are massive in terms of the potential table positions. We're at home to bottom club Barnsley, whilst Preston, Forest, Bristol City, Brentford and Swansea just above us all away in tough games. We could be pushing the top 6 next weekend...........
Funny old division eh? Couple of decent results but performances no better or even worse than Warnock's last few games and yet, here we are starting to worry those above us that have been deemed to be having a good season thus far! Long may it continue
You know if those shots by Hoilett & Bacuna against Brizzle had gone in rather than hitting the bar then Neil Warnock would still be manager. That wouldn’t be a problem (and I’m still unsure if Harris will be the long term answer but fair play to him for his flying start and best of luck to him as his journey unfolds) but it just goes to show how fine margins count for a lot in this game.
25 games - no goals. Every picture tells a story. Harris seems to like him though. Interesting selection problem next Saturday with Madine, Ward and Glatzel all pushing to start. I think Madine will get the nod but he needs to score to keep his place v. Brentford and dirty Leeds the week after.
By the time it happens they will all be using Motobility Sccoters or Zimmer Frames so, no is the answer.
