Notice to All Liverpool Board Members and Visitors

There are too many of the Liverpool board members winding people up on other boards and this is dragging in retaliation, we need to have respect when posting on another board, if we don't then we have no right to complain when it comes back at us.

I'm going to be a bit harder on wums for a while and ask for bans if needed, not606 is supposed to be about freedom but the abuse is it's getting out of hand. I have only ever asked for 1 person to be banned and that was a couple of nights ago but it seems my patient approach is not helping at the moment.

On saying this I will also be less tolerant of Liverpool fans being disrespectful on other boards or threads. (This includes the banter thread).

Some have complained about mods recently, this has also been noted and is the reason for my change in attitude.

We (mods) also need your help, if there is someone annoying you PM us instead of getting into an argument, this will help getting posts/threads closed quickly and stop problems escalating.

I hope this helps and will leave this thread open for feedback for a couple of days.

mods(of all clubs)should have the power to ban offenders for 1 day,1 week and then give them a red card if they dont see common sense.

Our board has been a wumfest for weeks,wums should have their own thread within the confines of each clubs board.

I'll try and not bite when we are wumed and certainly won't go visiting.

 

I think the multi-headed hydra called Lettuce is all the evidence you need to realise that permanent banning, like the death sentence, does not work. Saturday was the first time in a very long time I went onto the Arsenal and QPR boards to dish out some of what we got in the game thread this week, but in hindsight luvgonzo is so very right. Generally I don't go to other boards, why should I? I have no interest in the other teams, I don't care what the mancs are saying, and I don't need to fight with them.

I look at it this way, all these supporters come on our board for two reasons a) their board is dead, there were three people following the arsenal game thread on Saturday, three! all gooners, not one mackem! and b) we are still the benchmark that all other clubs measure themselves by, and so it is our approval, or disapproval they constantly seek.

I think 1 day banning is the way to go, and it should be an instant reaction to any supporter of another club who is posting on an unrelated thread for no good reason. namely that Kuntakintie gooner knob on Saturday. If mods are on hand for live event threads like that, he could have been one day banned after his first post.

It gets harder with embedded WUMs like bringbackrafa, but by now it is obvious for all to see that is a sockpuppet account and should be kicked.

Another option would be mod approved posting for new people and fans of other clubs, where by none of their posts appear unless checked by a Mod.

I've sent you pms in the past and you've done things about whatever. I do think internet warriors going out and attacking as the best form of defense are silly.

I think not606 and its users need to realise this country has laws that have seen the type of activity we are talking about can and in many cases would be taken as racial abuse, slander, libel and other various charges that could see not606 closed and its owners in court.

Moderators are not just referee's for little kids acting stupid. they are needed to make sure this forum stays open and is seen as safe for us. Its a volunteer job too so everyone's got to back their board's mods.

Sadly in the past 2-3 weeks i've seen more than enough posts that i think would have to be acted on if police were alerted. BBC 606 spent all its efforts policing this and was closed due to the resources needed. OTHER forums on bbc didn't close as they didn't need the moderation constantly. Think about it.

Hopefully this forum can continue to exist long term but that can and will only happen if it can recruit and right now the only people new are wum accounts of serial attention seekers.

I never go on other boards anyway, and if I did I'd go in peace. I can't even be bothered with the banter thread tbh, though I accept it's existence keeps a lot of the crap off other threads.

The banter thread, 99% of the time is the most chilled out thread on both boards. It has regular posters who respect each other. It's usually a safe thread when all the **** is going off

 

That's a request to Syd on BringBackBenítez to be banned for taking the piss (on another thread). I'm sure he'll be missed.

I look in every now and then- if only to get the bloody thing off the top of my board. Perhaps I'm just unlucky, but it seems to be mostly mud-slinging when I land there. I do agree though that it's served a purpose in taking a lot of the sting out of LFC- Utd rivalry.
It depends on who's on there at the time I suppose.

 

Well said Luv, I got sucked into posting on the Spurs board a lot last week, due mainly to the idiocy of some of their fans, but realise now I shouldn't have taken the bait. This is the only board I post on now!
