I appreciate I may well be jumping the gun here, but tonight's story from the telegraph basically says Charnley is reluctant to approach Vieira because he might have that unusual physical feature not found on NUFC employees - a spine.

I read another article that may have passed us by about NUFC arranging their first pre season match. Yep, no manager, but we can plan our pre season. Must be playing someone worthwhile, right? You becha howdy - its Atlas FC. You know, from Mexico. And its held in Milwaukee. Hotbed of football. In a baseball stadium.

So the summary I have here is that less than a fortnight after Mikes speech, we are booking trips to America, without a manager, solely for the advancement yet again of Sports Direct. Does the above sound like a club that has learned its lessons? I don't even think Charnley knows what the subject is, let alone the lesson. Fear the worst from the next manager, and then you might not be suicidal when you're still let down.

Daily Mail reporting that no date arranged for Vieira talks just yet.

Just have to wait and see. No point stressing until we know who the new man is.

EDIT: Mark Douglas is still of the impression talks were always planned for Tuesday and will go ahead as scheduled.

Given the way the club is run, I cant understand why anyone would believe that Vieira has even been considered, let alone that he would actually be interested.
It makes no sense at all, and if people feel let down if it doesn't happen, I'm sorry, but you should know better by now.

Don't see a problem with arranging Pre-season games in the US, if anything, that's a positive move and something we should've already been doing.

Now that's much more believable than Patrick Vieira selling himself to Charnley and Co.
Sound common-sense and some would say thoroughly enjoyable...

I wonder if its worth mentioning that Alan Curbishley is now 4th Fav with shortening odds tonight.

Sadly well get some noname scrub in. Ashley was spouting **** in the interview. Hes a swindler, and were all being swindled. We might spend that money this year, but it will again be on budget players.

Twitter awash with news Vieira is already signed up at Fenerbahce.

So with the Jonas/Colo lies are we assuming now EVERYTHING is lies? Makes sense.

Best way is not to assume anything or believe what you read.

****, I don't even believe what I write, never mind, dim wits in the media whose job it is to make up stories to sell newspapers etc.

As far as I can tell, the club have never said that they were trying to get Vieira, so the gullible people believing the ****e they read and getting themselves into a frenzy over it cant really complain can they....

Just expect the worst (Carver and a load of French E internationals who have the heart of an ant), then everything becomes rosy in the garden because 1. You are not disappointed when it happens 2. If they do something different, it can't fail to be at least a touch better

Look it will be McClaren. Now I'm not saying he is spineless but he is malleable and willing to work under the regime's 'model'. Also, after his rejection of the offer post Leicester, he may also be willing to come with reduced terms which wouldn't surprise me given how ****y Ashlry can be.

Speaking to someone at work - Their son works at St James. Apparently McClaren is to be announced on Friday. Graham Carr's choice and decision. I don't know whether this is true and can't verify it, but prepare for the worst.

The worst would be Carver back in as assistant, Stone kept on etc. The best we can hope for is that McClaren's been allowed to bring in people of his own choosing. Wonder if the head coach idea was Carr's rather than Charnley's? Power grab sort of thing?

I don't think McLaren will be a disaster. There are far worse options out there like Carver or Laudrup. He wouldn't have been my choice after turning us down though.

I can see it. All the backroom staff will stay save perhaps Woodman. They will let Steve bring in some no mark goalkeeping coach as a sweetner.

I have an update. McClaren is no1. Vieira is possibly his no2. Carver to drop down to coach with Stone. Woodman to leave.

Some on twitter saying that Carver will be spoken to over the next 48 hours to 'clarify his position', whatever the **** that means. Hopefully it will see him cleansed from the club for good.

    Exactly....my philosophy.
People need to get a grip on reality.
But, if they're going to continue believing everything that's thrown there way by the media, only disappointment will be forthcoming.
