Now how many of these do you remember http://www.walesonline.co.uk/lifestyle/fun-stuff/45-nightclubs-you-definitely-went-6436231
I can't imagine this will attract much interest ,nothing to link Laudurp or Monk is there ,or is there .
Baron's was EPIC!!! Sad day when that closed. Cinderella's, Mumbles Philharmonic, Cardiff Bentley's, Mumbles Stoneleigh's, Porthcawl All brought memories back.
Jeeeeeese Bentleys in Mumbles, last chance pint at 1am Anyone remember what the nightclub above The Admiral Benbow was called??
Bentley's had a 50p piece deliberately stuck on the dancefloor and I fell for it every time. The owners probably thought it was hilarious watching pissed people trying to pick it up.
TLF, Bentleys was called Nutz in an earlier incarnation, had a few good nights there as well as Baron's and Cinders. there was also Neptunes and Secrets down Mumbles. in town i did the Valbonne a few times during an ill-advised disco phase, invariably got beaten up by the bouncers and chucked out down the back stairs. mostly spent my time at Dora's/Circles fantastic club.
Valbonne on a Thursday night was a regular for me in the mid 70s and Cinders on a Sat night. The Neath ones were after my time there - thank goodness
Yes went a few time to Neath Workies as it was only a short walk home for me. There was a similar club on the seafront in Aberavon where a group of us went after an afternoon shift in the steel works - I still remember (with a shudder) a lovely 'girl' from Maesteg who had Mild and Bitter tattooed on her ample fronntage
When I was a teenager (early 90s) that club was called 'Pharaohs'. Total **** hole, guaranteed a fight outside at chucking out time....but the daddy of **** Port Talbot night clubs has to be 'The Starlight', ever been Glam?
I see you're well acquainted with the delights of Neath Sunday was the best night out in Neath in the 90s. There's something about knowing you really should have gone home about 5 hours ago as you've got to be up for work in the morning which makes the likes of the 'Talk of the Abbey' and the 'Dark Arch' truly thrilling and impossible to resist Always a shag on the cards in Neath, God bless you Neath Valley girls, and once again...shamefully...violence in the air, always a fight around the taxi queue or outside the kebab shops. Happy Days
Nice. The Starlight was my regular. Sunken dancefloor as I recall. Very swish. I actually liked it. I think it was flattened to make was for Morrissons
